This topic has been beaten to death earlier during the season when Rockets was struggling. Digging it out now and serving it up as something insightful makes little sense at this point. Considering the team is on a winning streak, I think it is only good thing that Tmac can contribute while playing at a controlled pace. Season is long and tmac's body is fragile. We need him 100% when the schedule gets tough.
dude what jelle said is true to a point and he is definitely allow to have his own opinion. i've never seen so much homerism and denial on any basketball forum. and on top of that, the bashing comes into play. mcgrady can definitely be doing more and run his defender crazy. a more active mcgrady would make the rockets that much better. i guess jelle and i will just take our "tmac bashing" elsewhere.
the o.p. didn't even mention yao. don't get so personal. i don't think anyone can deny there's a difference in the effort levels of yao and mcgrady. i don't like to overblow it, but it exists.
Why you guys bashing him? Its true, T-mac is lazy. He is important to this team, but that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't run and takes bad shots. However, I do have to say that his clearly injury is the reason for his recent play.
I would think effort is much more damaging than Yao's physical limitations. The difference is T-mac has the ability to be the best player in the league. Yes, both players have their flaws, but T-macs game is all mental. He has very high basketball IQ and could be the Ultimate team player, but he just needs to work every possession.
I'm really fed up with this. Cant ppl just critisize on Tmac and Yao seperately? Why the hell every time when someone said someing bad on Tmac, he's auto-transformed to a YOF? Did ANYONE just see T-mac go to the ground for a rebound. I have NEVER seen him hustle for the ball like that. KUDOS to the Mac.
Tmac has definately picked up his defense. However at an expense of his offense. Do you have an offensive player or defensive player in Tmac? I am still having trouble seeing how tmac would fit into RD system, where it requires alot of movements. Tmac just stood there and jack up bricks.
