Tractor Traylor (Milwaukee) was traded for Dirk (Dallas).

Nash was a Sun when the Mavs traded for him.

Otis Smith is no5? That is a joke. Signing Lewis alone disqualifies him from anything.

Joe Dumars used to be considered one of the top GMs. He is now supplanted by all these young guns. Dumars is a great traditional GM. But his method is outdated.

well regardless of that, they went to the Finals. I question the massive contract offer too but you can't argue with the results.

You could go grab bargain players all day but at the end of the day if you don't get anywhere with those bargain players its still no use.

His teams went to six consecutive conference finals. He realized he needed to rebuild and is doing so. Give him a year or two. I would say he is better than most of the guys on that list.

Amazing, simply amazing, especially when you consider the injuries that have plagued the team.

Yeah although admittedly Hedo/Howard/Nelson were there before Otis Smith, and were great acquisitions. Smith has done a great job building on that. Lewis is overpaid but he's not another Zach Randolph or Eddy Curry and he fits their system perfectly and produces really well. Along the way Otis got Courtney Lee, Pietrus, Gortat, and this summer was great as well with the Brandon Bass signing. Hes done everything right. and great.

I agree Raven, that is a very impressive stat. Morey is awesome at finding good players at a reasonable price. He has to have one of the coolest jobs ever.

What?!?!?!?! They ranked Kevin Pritchard Gm of Trailblazers over Morey? Good Job Morey but Kevin Pritchard? Comon this is horrible. Morey should come in 2nd or 3rd. I know he should be in 2nd.

Then can you explain how Pritchard has out-maneuvered Morey to get the players Morey wanted in the draft for two of the past three years?

I am not sure but the blazers were in better position to take a player in the lottery.

Pritchard managed to waste one of the biggest expiring contracts at last years trade deadline.

Pritchard majorly botched the Darius Miles situation last year and completely alienated himself with "the letter". Rival GMs are extremely hesistant to deal with him due to his arrogance.

Pritchard chose Greg Oden instead of Kevin Durant.

Pritchard had numerous draft picks stockpiled, with the intention of moving them for an impact player, in this years draft and managed to get nothing in return for them.

Pritchard had the nerve to approach Brandon Roy and offer a non-max contract, heavily angering his franchise player.

Pritchard failed to attract his top three FA targets and had to settle for an aging PG who doesnt fit his system AT ALL.

Pritchard had one great draft, and is riding that reputation as a good GM. In my opinion he is marginal at best.

Pritchard's tallent evaluation consists of figuring out who Morey wants and then picking him or trading for him.

Pritchard didn't outmaneuver Morey. The Portland team on the floor did all of the outmaneuvering of the Rockets and they should be given proper credit.

I think Morey is one of the best GM's in the NBA. With that said, Morey has some very hard decisions to make come 2010. 2010 will be a defining moment in his career. With only $36 Million committed for 2010 and with the economy and salary cap situation, Morey has the opportunity to take the next step in his career and for the Rockets. Until he delivers a championship to Houston as Buford has done, he still has a long ways to go.

No Jerry West? He brought Kobe to LA and brought Gay to Memphis.

Arguable, because we don't really know who was available for that contract. Miller is a decent consolation prize.

People keep on insisting this was Pritchard's doing, while in fact it was team President Larry Miller who sent out that letter. It's from the business side, not basketball side.

EVERY single GM would have done the same, and it's too early to write off Greg.

What draft picks? Second rounders? Jerryd Bayless? Who is going to give him anything of value for that scrub?

Again, not Pritchard. It was shown in Portland/National media outlets that this was Paul Allen's handlers doing, not Pritchard's.

How is it Pritchard's fault that Turk's wife didn't like Portland? How is it Pritchard's fault that Utah matched Portland's offer. It still put Utah in a bind with Boozer, who will undoubtedly be traded for very little value now. Putting a rival division team in such a bind is a good thing in my mind.
