I've gotten into a DIY/camping/outdoor craze and just saw this tool from Doomsday Preppers:

It combines a hammer, crowbar, shovel, saw, axe, and hoe. It has varying degrees of effectiveness at each one but it just looks so cool.

Never seen credits on a review before.

it's a bootleg of the chinese original as weird as that sounds.

Well, the inventor said the idea came to him after breaking the handle on his shovel while using it and attaching the head to a crowbar but it's really more likely they just copied the Chinese shovel - it was pretty viral at some point, as I've read.

But, the Crovel has improvements on the Chinese shovel. It adds a crowbar. The hammer-head is better defined. The shovel head lock seems to be better. It's metal through-out which makes it tougher albeit at the cost of weight and the metal used is probably tougher. The handle is fitted with paracord. The body's actually hollow and you can put things in it and the cap for it can be replaced by a spike turning it into a short pike, as well.

It loses the Chinese shovel's wire-cutter feature, though, which I really liked.

Btw, it supposedly ships with the blades duller than they should be, intentionally. That's probably why the guys on the review vid found it hard to saw and cut.

don't get me wrong. I follow the practice, buy once, cry once. I would rather have the Crovel than that chinese POS. it's looks to be a lot better made and if wire cutters is all it's missing.. there's always v2. I have a russian spetnatz shovel that had to be sharpened. Now its like a razor. What's the price on the Crovel?

That's the big kick to the shins. It's $109.

    Well, it's made in America.
