those from austin have heard kornheiser on 1300... i don't know if 610 in houston plays him, but anyways... i never really liked his show, but i have to admit that the soundclips on his website are hilarious! http://espn.go.com/espnradio/tonyk.html# especailly the clips that poke fun at jim rome's show... (listen to the clip titled "Callers: O man from I town") andy polley (kornheiser's radio sidekick) has his own website: http://www.andypolley.com/index.html with the freakin' funniest cartoon... check it out: http://www.andypolley.com/hazzard.html and a hilarious poke at romey's jungle: (poor audio quality) http://www.andypolley.com/sounds.html choose the soundbyte titled "Rome's Psychic Friends" this stuff had me cracking up!
here's another funny poke at Rome, "what if rome worked at wendy's?" click on the "Phil's journey to Wendy's is always epic" sound byte on the page: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/tonyk.html# i never realized how much animosity tony & gang has towards romey!
I listened to this one, did i miss something? or is this some kind of inside joke? was it something Jim Rome said on his show that made it funny? Because i didnt hear Jim Romes name at all in that clip? I was going to listen to it because i dont really care for Jim and think it would be funny to hear some jokes on him. I havent listened to the others yet, prob check them out later.
LOL did you hear "playing my game is whay got you here"? "I pity the fool who dont play my game!" LOL
I have never listened to his radio show, but I really like his TV show on ESPN with Michael Wilbon (show is called Pardon the Interruption). Those two guys get into some good arguments.
sonics gm: that clip was just poking fun at rome's way of speaking, with his "epic... rack him... etc." they were imitating the jungle vernacular with the "tkorn in d.c." and "rob in b-lo" etc. they were just goofing around trying to talk jungle smack... i think tony coined the word "classic" in his wierd accent to mimic rome's use of the word "epic"... b/c kornheiser says "classic" all the time in his show...
the guy imitating christopher walken also did an awesome job in that same clip as the dude who did Mr. T!!!
Good God, how I hate Tony Kornhole. You know you have an inferior show when you have to rely on bashing the ones ahead of you. Say what you want about Rome, but he rarely takes shots at his counterparts...save the sports blob.
Kornhole is HIIIIILARIOUS....until he opens his obnoxious mouth and you have to see his horrific face on tv. You know how some people have "a face for radio?" Good ole tony has a face for the newspaper I line my pet's litterbox with.... The next time tony kornheiser says something funny and/or interesting will be the first time, will be the end of the world, will be no time soon....
I was never a big fan of Kornheiser, mainly because he rarely talks about sports. However, what took the cake for me was when, instead of discussing sports on his sports show, he recorded promos for his television show. I hate the afternoon guys here in Austin, but at least they've never stooped that low. Plus, any "sports" show host who doesn't know who Aramis Ramirez is should be fired immediately.
