The following information is what I found out from ***************, a new NBA site that I found out from Swish Magazine:

    Hawks Waive Delk

    ATLANTA HAWKS WAIVE TONY DELK

ATLANTA, GA ---- The Atlanta Hawks today waived veteran guard Tony Delk, according to Executive Vice President/General Manager Billy Knight.

In his 10th season from the University of Kentucky, Delk played in one regular season game for the Hawks this year (Feb. 12 at Sacramento), scoring two points in seven minutes. Over his career, he has averaged 9.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.9 apg (.407 FG%, .340 3FG%, .771 FT%) in 522 regular season contests.

The Hawks originally obtained Delk from the Dallas Mavericks, along with Antoine Walker, in exchange for Jason Terry, Alan Henderson and a second-round draft pick on August 4, 2004.

Looking at those averages... I could only imagine if he was picked up from waivers and made a Rocket how much better he could be for our team... The Overall Statistics look average (the ppg is great, the percentages could use some work though... but I think the Rockets could fix that problem...)

    Your thoughts?

Plus he's from Kentucky, which seems to have replaced ex-Knicks as our new obsession.

head's doing ok as rafer's backup. if swift continues to miss games maybe rocks should look at another centre that plays offense?

the emeka-schenscher final didn't live up to the hype but i don't think schenscher played too badly in that game. his numbers aren't too bad in the nbdl, he'll be good insurance on the inactive list.

Yes, but you have to keep in mind, maybe he was one of those players that didn't want to play for the Hawks and dared them to waive or trade him... Come on, who would want to play for Atlanta? In their right mind? Unless your name is Joe Johnson or Al Harrington? :p

Delk is another sg in a pg's body. I think we have plenty of those. Delk was a pretty good scorer back in the day though.

Since Lampe has another year to go on his contract I'd guess Finch would be the first in line to get waived if the Rockets do waive anyone.

Didn't he score 50 one time for the Suns? yea, that would be an interesting pickup.

he dropped 50 a few years ago. I bet you he would look nice stroking 3's from open shots Tmac and Yao got him.

Yeah, no doubt about it, he can go off and score in bunches or at least he could. Maybe he could play the Mike James role.

Possibly. But he's more of a PG than Luther is. And he's a smart, tough defender. Or at least he used to be. He may have lost a step with age and riding the pine over in Turner Town, but I would certainly prefer his experience on our roster as we make a playoff push as opposed to Fitch's inexperience.

We don't need Tont Delk cause we just traded Derek Anderson for Gerald Fitch. I'd rather plat Fitch than go out and sign Delk. Fitch is 6 '3 he's long and athletic and is very quick which is a must of your going to one day compete with the West elite. PLAY GERALD FITCH DON'T SIGN DELK. Go Rockets!!!

Dude, Fitch is not long. And he's actually probably about 6' nothing. He is quick as a hummingbird though.

I saw somewhere Lee Nailon was waived. Does he have any game left?

I'd like to see us bring in Tim Thomas when he gets cut. He would be a perfect backup for T-Mac if he's motivated and that's not a given. He would be cheap though, since the Bulls are paying his salary.
