Our toilet is clogged up solid.

Does anyone have any home remedy for getting things moving again? The plunger just doesn't seem to be getting the job done.

Would something like vinegar or vodka help break down the toilet paper clog?

Any help would be much much much much much much much appreciated! In addition, if your suggestion works, you will henceforth be referred to by me as Sir Unclogsalot, First Knight of the Glistening Bowl.

    Seriously, we need help.

I don't know, but please don't waste the Vodka like that.
I would think some kind of liquid plumber would be your best choice.

when it's backed up that bad, than get a big big pot of water and slowly pour it in the toilet slowly increasing speed. Do about 2 big pots to see if it works.

None of that **** works. You need to go to the hardware store and get a toilet auger.

Korean soju (very similar to vodka) is only like $1.50 per bottle here, so it's no worry. And people wonder why Koreans are such heavy drinkers...

I dumped some vinegar and baking soda down there. I'm going to let it stew for an hour or so.

If that doesn't work, then it's time to try the alcohol.

Instant Power Removes Hair and Grease Drain Opener

    Sold at Home Depot.

You can also buy liquid plumber.

The essential ingredients are sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.

It burns and breaks up the organics in any block. Paper, human waste, whatever.

I've used this a few times when my kids have really backed things up, and plunger and snake were no good. Apply a cup or two, let it sit for an hour or more. The blocks at my house flushed away after that. :) Caution, very small spill left black burn marks on floor.

Alternative - Hydrocloric acid, or sulfuric acid, check for local supply.

Drink more water. I used to have the same problem for many years, but the it went away since I began drinking a gallon of water per day.

Dumping all these chemicals into a water system to remove a local clog is r****ded. An auger used properly will clean any local clog.

bro, that is EXTREMELY unhealthy. try to get that waste out of your body every day, as it can become very dangerous down the years. increase your fiber intake and youll be going in no time.

ARRRGH! Nothing is working. The plungers I bought can't get any sort of seal because the stupid toilet hole is a weird shape. I bought a bottle of what looks like some sort of Drano type product, but it's all in Korean, so there's no way to be sure. This better work. It would suck having to constantly pee in the damn shower drain.

I learned this from my wife: When desperate, straighten out a hanger and use it like a homemade toiler auger. This has worked every single time for us when a plunger fails.

OR get a real plunger. Thats right, a toilet plunger!!!!

Toilet plunger on left, sink one on the right.

Or go dump some more chemicals down it and polute our water.

Sometimes using a plunger can actually make it worse by compacting the **** (figuratively or literally ;) ) into a tighter ball which makes it harder to move down the pipe. I use a plunger first, but if it doesn't work, I don't force it. That's when I use the auger.

I learned all this crap (insert joke here) from a landlord I had in college.
