I've been preaching this too. TMo is a great backup 3 right now. Good D, good rebounding, and a decent shot. With more pt I really believe he can become a starter caliber 3. I like the fact that he can play a bit at the 4 as well. MoT still needs a lot of time, I'm not gonna write him off by a long shot yet. Hopefully by playoff time he'll feel more comfortable.
I feel like I have said enough about Tmo since I have closely followed him and given my thoughts for the past two years. At the start of this season I said he was more talented than KT and I still believe that. In fact I am sure CD would privately say that the presence of Tmo further justified the decision to trade KT. I remain, however, concerned about Tmo's aggressiveness as I am about EG's, in fact. If they had the fire of Amare, for instance, MoT would never see the court. I also wish the aggressiveness of Posey at the 3 spot will rub off on Tmo. I am waiting for Tmo to finish in traffic a la Posey.
DearRock. Fire is a tough thing...and something the Rocks desperatly need. Teams get behind an ENERGY guy, and feed off that energy. That is why I have been screaming for Posey to start. SF, CM, EG, YM are all soft easy going players.....if they started out with attitude we would not have lost to the Clipps, GState, Atlanta, Grizzes of the world. Posey brings intensity...kind of like Ron Artest, and that helps the whole team get up. DD
DearRock, your quote: "I am waiting for Tmo to finish in traffic a la Posey." Great point, I believe that Terence has shot only FOUR FREE THROWS all year, an incredible stat, he was a great FT shooter in college, should be going to the bucket more, defintely 4 free throw attempts says something!. I think TMO can contribute steadily at the 4, he is as big as Eddie, not as long, but dare I say stronger. His speed, wingspan, defense, are all upgrades from MoFat. We dont need a monster PF when we have a 7-5 center and Kelvin"no hands" Cato plugging up the middle. We need a role player(slashers & defenders) at the 3 & 4 not above average scorers. How big is Robert Horry? He played PF for us at times and did a great job of disrupting the rhythm of physically larger PF's....
I think we should wait until his three point shooting improves to at least DOUBLE FREAKING DIGITS before giving him significant playing time. It seems like our SFs can get wide open threes just about every time down the court.
Mot over Tmo any day of the week, I hope Mo plays tonight and plays well but I'm not certain. I noticed earlier in the year when he played against Amare, they were taking it to each other.
