Its great what is happening for this kid. I went to UT, and fell in love with UT basketball because of him. He was so exciting to watch. He has such a good grasp of the game, and on top of that he is a great team player who loves to pass the rock. Those qualities are hard to find in a point guard these days. You can argue he doesnt have the best shot in the game, but he can learn to do that. You cant teach elusive ballhandling skills though. This seems as an innate quality instilled in him. It all began in houston, because he had so many options to pass to in high school while playing for willowridge. If you look at the year the Bucks went to the playoffs, you will notice that they won the bulk of their games before TJ got injured. Im just so excited for him and the bucks. in the first game he got 17 pts, 5/9 shooting, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 reb, and 5 TO (ouch) 2nd game: 19 pts, 8/12 shooting , 9 assists, 2 steals, 3 reb, and 2 TO he isnt known for turning the ball over, so it looks like he worked out some kinks he had in the first game. well, just wanted to say good luck TJ and hope for the best.
Absolutely, glad to see TJ up and running again. He could defintely have a comeback players of the year type of season.
He's been working very hard on his shot as your box scores show. I will be a Bucks fan this year, except when they play us or the Pacers.
just to clarify...TJ avg 3.6 turnovers per game in 33 MPG at UT-Austin. Wouldn't exactly say he isn't known for turnovers..his penetration almost requires TOs. that being said, great to see him back.
I have to admit I was heartbroken when TJ took back his word and went pro instead of coming back for his junior season, but, I wish him the best. The kid has unbelievable talent and I know he'll do well barring anymore injury problems. Hook 'Em, Brian
from what I have heard, Coach Barnes basically told him it was time to go. keep in mind that while TJ isn't from a welfare family or anything he does have a niece and I think a nephew to take care of. we all would have loved for TJ to come back one more year, but what if he had suffered this injury in college? he would have been f u c k e d.
i'm so happy to see tj back, he's going to be a great pg in this league for many years. and he really doesn't turn the ball over that much, a lot of the time in college he would pass the ball to a teammate who just couldn't think tj could get them the ball. he was really on another level in college and he had about one of those a game.
Not to mention the countless times he passed the ball to someone in the perfect position and the guy just couldn't put the ball in the basket...He could have had hundreds of more assists.
