is this kid coming out of nowhere to first earn the start... Over Rose!!! and now he is making Coach thomas look good. I am so seriously suprised. so who else is showing rooke promise??
Tinsley is not a rookie. He was on the Pacers last season but didn't see much playing time until the end of last season. A good looking rookie to keep an eye on is Richard Jefferson. Drafted by the Rockets and traded to the Nets in the Griffin deal.
uh finn hate to burst your bubble but tinsley was selected 27th by the grizz(i think it was atlantas pick in the rahim deal) and traded him to indiana in this yrs draft http://sports.espn.go.com/nbadraft/tracker/round?round=1
HUH????? Iowa State's gotta be real careful dealing with the NCAA then. They had a goddam pro on their tourny roster!!!
Speedy Claxton. I know some people think he is not a rookie, but he is. He did not play at all last year because of a preseason knee injury, but I know for sure that he is considered a rookie.
I just watched NBA 2 Nite on ESPN2 and they really emphasized how Tinsley's play is crucial to Indiana. Half of the highlights centered on Tinsley while the other half focused on Rose. That sure is a lot of exposure for a rookie on a team starring Rose and Miller. He has really surprised and should thank Isaiah for handing him the job that he earned in preseason.
But what we're all forgeting here is that the key to Indiana's success lies in the hands of one SWT alum Jeff Foster. Stop laughing. He scored 13 in 15 minutes tonight and was even being interviewed by ESPN Radio on my way home from the cinema tonight.
Although it is obviously early, the ROY race is looking very interesting, with many dark horses outside of the preseason favorites Battier and Richardson. Some of the rooks that have had a good break out of the blocks other than Tinsley (who has phenomenal numbers): Troy Murphy, Richard Jefferson, Kirilenko, Rebraca, Loren Woods (how many teams that needed help in the center will be kicking themselves for passing him up?), and Joe Johnson. Then there are the promising rooks who have not gotten much playing time yet such as EG, TMo, Kwame Brown, Brendan Haywood, Tony Parker, the Bulls rooks, etc. (not to mention Oscar Torres and Tiere Brown, both of whom look like definite keepers to me). Looks like a VERY deep year for the rooks.
Tinsley is the real deal . If he can continue the East will be in trouble. Jeff Foster is finally livin up to the first round expectation when they drafted him. If Foster(rebound 8per game) and Tinsely( 7-8 assist per game) can keep up these number. The Pacers will be contender(2,3,4) instead of pretender(6,7,8) .
The most impressive thing about tinsley so far this year is that he has 31 assists and only 7 turnovers. That's great for any player, especially a rookie.
