He is great every time I seem him play. He was drafted by New Jersey in 1997. He was the 7th Pick of the draft out of Villanova and played only 1 year in college. Somehow he ended up with Milwaukee. That is all I know about him. Has anyone followed him closely who can offer some insight about him? What are his strengths, weaknesses, etc. TIA ------------------
I think his main weakness is that he is stuck on the bench in Milwaukie. Also, he shoots too many three-pointers, although he makes them quite often. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan.
He also has a max contract. He is not worth 70 or 80 million dollars. I would trade Cato for him in a sec though! ------------------
actually 03, not a bad point. Walt + starch + #13 pick for Tim Thomas? I'd do it in a heartbeat. No true loss of cap and immediate substantial upgrade at the #3. ------------------ (===)
I thought he was drafted by Philly. I always thought he was overrated. He's just an overhyped athletic slasher type. He might turn out to be a good player eventually with George Karl there. ------------------ "You have to think optimistic. I think it's never over till it's over." - Clyde Drexler after losing at home to go down 3-1 to the Suns in '95
Crazy logic ZRB. He shoots too many threes, BUT he makes them often. How can you shoot too many if you are hitting them? He actually shoots about 42% and is 12th in the leage in 3 pt. %. I would say let him shoot them. The guy is 6'10" with a nice shot. Trouble with Thomas is, for a big guy, he only averages 4.18 boards a game. That's worse than Taylor. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
Yes he shoots them well, but the Bucks seem to think he would be a more effective player if he were to slash to the hoop more often. He is a good shooter, no doubt, but he could be a better overall player if he used the mid-range game more often. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball.
