I know he has underachieved but he can shoot 3's and is a big 3 which can defend a little bit... Any takers for a minimum contract? http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/news/story?id=4326434
oh man this is soooo ridiculous i dont know where to start no way if I was a GM for any team would I sign Tim Thomas to any more than a 1 year deal I want to make sure that every year he plays for me is a contract year otherwise you get no production out of him whatsoever
What's the goal this season? I'm still not clear on that. Playoffs is a possibility if the Rockets really planned for it, but there's no way this team contends with 40 million on the shelf. So why bring in washed up old players, like Tim Thomas or Ben Wallace, that will only distract from the proper development of the younger players? I don't see the purpose in it.
Il be honest...I am reaching for something, anything, lol...our team is so incomplete and we need players badly. I dont know what else is left and from whats left there isnt anything nothing not one good player...
This team will be incomplete. You remove the two best, most expensive players, off any team, and they will be incomplete. That's just our luck this year, and we have to accept it.
Id actually like to see what we have in Dorsey before we overreach for a guy that will cost us too much or not play Rocket basketball. Which is effort basketball. I dont think Tim Thomas can ever be described as an effort player. Id feel totally ok going into the season with Hayes, Scola, Landry, and Dorsey manning the center position if we had to search that long to find a suitable 7 footer. Then if a trade goes on around the mid part of the season hopelly Morey can pull us out a center to go with whoever they trade for thrown into that trade as well.
this guy is the definition of contract-year-one-trick-pony sign this guy to a one year deal!!! he's probably going to be the most talented player in the rotation on opening day on the Rockets...not that thats saying something...
I think he meant that the current roster is not complete. My thoughts are that unless we do a trade for a center, we'll end up with old washed up players like this or younger, underdeveloped / underacheived ones....
First post. Have nothing to add to this thread but was wondering if there was a reason I can't start a new thread? Too new?
Not on a rebuilding team. On a win now squad, he would be good like the rox were last yr, but that ship has sailed. He will probably go to cleveland or orlando. In cleveland, he would be great as a big 4 who can also put the ball on the floor. In orlando, playing with howard to match up with the odom and rasheed types would also come in handy.
You have to be a member first and clutch will determine that by posts you make on threads...correct me if I am wrong guys.
Welcome. We dont like rookies posting new threads, due to some bad experiences. Just follow the routine of the board. This is policed a bit more than your typical basketball board. This is more of a no non-sense community. If you have great posts, and seem to have a good basketball iq, then you will fit in comfortably.
I assume you are talking about getting him for center. I'd rather start Brooks as center over Thomas.
I'd rather have Francis back than to have the Rox sign Tim Thomas. I am kinda surprised that they bought him out though. He only had one year left on his deal and could his contract could have been used to add a decent player via trade. Just earlier today I was looking at a Brad Miller, Ty Thomas, and Tim Thomas for T-Mac, Brooks, & Landry deal. That deal doesn't work without Tim Thomas.
