    no way no how

steve francis is untradeable, he is a rocket and will be a rocket for a while. I like Tim's game, but not for steve, i don't. It is an interesting scenario, but ultimately, no way no how

If they play their cards right, they can get Dunca without giving up no one in 2 yrs. If the Rice deal goes through, Tim can't come then.

I find it surprising that Francis is regarded so well!

Francis hasn't done anything in this league!

We would be trading 2 future stars that love it in Houston and should be here for a long time, for 1 superstar who wouldn't be here for long and a mediocre pg.

Francis loves it here in Houston and is pretty much a lock to sign here for the max when it's time.

Mobley loves it here in Houston and has already signed a 6 year contract at a bargain price to stay with us.

Duncan is already on a short contract. Why? So he can be a free agent again in '03 and test out the market. He would most definitely go somewhere else at that point anyways if Mobley and Francis weren't even here to play with him.

Those line-ups don't work either. Duncan has said he does not want to play center. Glen Rice can not play SG. Steve Smith can not play SF effectively. Kelvin Cato is definitely not a starting PF on any team...

To say Francis has done nothing just shows pure ignorance.

Why would you trade Tim Duncan for someone who "hasn't done anything in this league!" ?

After completing 2 seasons, Steve Francis is regarded by many - including me to be one of the two best point guards in the league-He and Jason Kidd are the best, now Steve is the best in the west. His attitude is much better than Stephon Marbury or Gary Payton-He is a winner!!!:)

Neither have you. Maybe Tim will come over and play for free.I dont think Steve would mind. Oh yea better talk to Maruice first.I think Tim can stay in S.A. so Steve can continue to dunk on him.

How about Eddie and Glen for Duncan in a sign and trade at the end of Timmy's contract? The Spurs will need someone who cannot flee the team and Griffin will still be locked up for a couple more years. Glen would have a contract that would expire the next year to match salaries. Heck, Kenny could be a throw in to sweeten the deal. Tim will not remain on the Sputtering Spurs in 2003. All of the geriatrics on that team will be retiring and he would probably enjoy moving down the road a piece and hooking up with Steve and Cat.

Interesting idea, Stupid Moniker. Assuming the numbers work (S&T Glen Rice using his Bird rights), Duncan actually wants to come here, Rice agrees to a one-year contract, and it's all legal (can you S&T a player with a one-year contract?), that might actually be within the realm of possibility. Of course, there's also the consideration that if Griffin's potential is as high as many of us think it is, he may not be worth losing, even for Duncan, who is six years older than Griffin.

I take the last part back. It's hard to imagine Griffin being so good as to be worth passing over a shot at Duncan with.
