    Verse,

I think Tito actually DOES think pass first, shoot second. All of the stuff I have seen of him has been penetrate and dish. Tierre (at least this preseason) shot the ball way too much trying to impress the coaches or something. The best way to make this team is play a true point guard, something Tierre does not.

If Tito is that bad, we may have to put Mobley at PG, who sucks there, I know, but we really don't have much of a choice. We would then start Hawkins or Nachbar if he can at the 2. Maybe Rice.

However, this lineup really sucks in my opinion. :D

    A-Train,
You've got to love that Mickeal made it, especially after all that drama you got from some of the newbies ( like BUBS).;)

That's halarious. Just goes to show.

As far as Brown getting trapped in the backcourt, it also happened to Maddox just as frequently, if not more. I think Tierre is a better ball handler, but like mentioned before,Tito's contract is partially guaranteed and CD might see some potential in seeing him in practice everyday.

Well, I'm happy. Deep down inside, I was hoping Mickeal would make the team. I remember him in Cinci and liked what I read about his toughness and leadership that lead to his signing. I liked Torres, too; It could have been a chemistry thing too seeing how Mickeal was always hanging with Cat. Who knows?

Everyone is acting all suprised at this. I knew Tierre was going to get cut after the last two preseason games. Every time I saw him, he was getting trapped in the backcourt. <hr></blockQUOTE>

    You're prediction was correct.

"<i>Tierre Brown--Trapped in the backcourt never to be seen again.</i>"

Tierre made a great play in Orlando's preseason game. But in general, evidently, he has trouble to handle the ball during heavy traffic. That is a core requirement in his position.

Did his weight cause him to dribble out the clock, and force bonehead plays last season?

No disrespect, but Moochie is nothing more then a fan favorite. So he made a few "wide open" jump shots at the end of games. Give those shots to Ming, and he will drain them every time. Rockets need a bobby jackson type on this team, and Tierre (outside of his turnovers) was providing that quickness. I sure hope that Tito gets there soon.

Yes, actually it did. Imagine Shaq trying to get around a guard while dribbling. He isn't quick enough, so he has to try and fake him out. Faking someone out requires more effort and time, therefore it took more time off the shot clock. Also, the offense didn't really do much. It consited mostly of getting by their man, since we had so many injuries. Realize that Cat and Francis didn't do well with the clock as well.

did you just compare Tierre to Bobby Jackson. barbourdog....dude...Tierre got exposed by halfcourt traps. It was so plainly evident. The kid can't play in the NBA, once he gets exposed like that.

I don't care if people thinks he outplayed Tito. We are talking about Tierre, and this preseason proved he is not an NBA player.

Bobby Jackson will not be in Sac-town for long. He can start somewhere!!!! They are very lucky, but Moochie is not bad backup. He does some good things too for a backup.

Most teams do not carry more than 2 at the point anyway.

Maddox has the quicks and ability to get to the basket and be around the loose balls. He should not be handling the ball, but he can be an asset in other areas including defense!

Nice to see Mickael get a shot if he gets healthy...if not he is gone and a vet will replace him...

I prefer Tito over Tierre because he's not a Francis want to be. Tierre always pushed too hard to the basket and never looked for the assist play. His good plays were always negated by his stupid plays. Tito is a raw talent that has more potential than Tierre, especially on the defensive end. Give Tito until next season, and I don't think there will be too many complaints about him.

Is Maddox going to say "Arriba!" during interviews? Oh wait, I'm thinking of Tito Santana.

To bad we couldn't get somebody with the first name of Rick or Tom. Then we could have pretended they were Strike Force or the Can-Am Connection.

    From NBA.com

Houston Rockets waive guard Tierre Brown and place guard Tito Maddox (left foot plantar fasciitis), forward Pete Mickeal (foot problem) and forward Terence Morris (left ankle sprain) on the injured list.

    Plantar fasciitis......classic Rudy!

I wish we could of kept Tierre, instead Tito. Even though Tierre and Tito both had trouble with the press, I saw more game from Tierre. So far Tito has not shown me anything, but maybe the Rocket coaches see something that is not obvious. Hopefully, he will improve as season moves along.

So I was right with my guess about Tierre being cut...I still think they will also cut Mickeal sooner or later, unless he does something to really impress the Rockets once he is able to play again.
