Good question. Maybe they're too expensive for Les to produce and clean? That could also explain the lack of an alternate.
It does seem like we are the only team in the league to not change it up a little. Some teams have changed main jerseys 3 or 4 times in the time we have been wearing the uglies that we've been wearing for almost a decade.
The Rockets go big. Other teams change up their jerseys from one night to another. The Rockets change up their starting lineup from one night to another.
I dont get that either. We wear the same jersey every night, no retro, no alternates. The Cavs have worn like 10 different jerseys this year, they dont even stick to their colors.
I don't think they have done this since Bob Sura was on the team. I could be wrong, but I think that's the last time the Rockets' throwback jerseys. Definitely not every year. I wish they'd do more. Or at least an alternate.
we did last year, vs Detroit. the game where we missed like every freethrow until the end of the 4th.
What are you talking about? This is only the 5th season we've worn these jerseys. We wore the ketchup and mustard ones for 22 years. These jerseys are worlds better than the pinstriped pajamas. And you don't want to change jerseys every few seasons. I'd rather be consistent like the Lakers, Knicks, Spurs, Blazers or Celtics than trying to reinvent our image every other year.
What he (or she) said. Maybe if we have a good playoff run or a majority of the team returns next season, we might see a true throw back night.
This is something I have been dissapointed with. We are dangerously bland when it comes to throwback and alternate jerseys. I want to see more championship year jerseys, heck even a game of the pajamas would be fun. And how come we don't have an alternate version of our current uniform, maybe in silver or something?
Our throwbacks are better than our real jerseys. I'm not a fan of the shoulder cuts and the double stripes. The cut is awkward, the stripes are awkward and the stitching in of the stripes causes the edges of the shoulders to curl up. As a result, our players look like characters from The Jetsons/Power Rangers. The pajamas were ugly but at least the cut was normal. Sorry, whenever a jersey topic comes up, I feel the need to say this.
I think we should change jerseys, keep the same colour scheme though! since I think we found a good identity with the red coulour espaccially with the Red Rowdies
He Not having tmac definitely hurts sells. Ron isn't really going to sell a lot even if he plays well. Too much drama surrounding his name for parents and some kids to buy. That leaves us with Yao, and well, he's not even #1 in his country. I think they should surprise everyone with new jerseys next year, keep the logo if you want, but let the fans now there's a new era now...hopefully anyway...
Semi-related.. does anyone know where to get a Landry throw back jersey? Not necessarily Landry but not TMac/Yao/Artest. I really want to buy a jersey but our current ones are terrible, and I'd rather not have it be a star player.
I think Ron Artest shoots too much and too many dumb shot selections and has an iso mentality to even deserve to wear the throwbacks of Hakeem, Elie, Horry and Cassel. Artest would disgrace these true champions-I know Max was a headcase but he made a high degree of his shots. I would cringe seeing the selfish Artest in those unis that bring back so many good memories.
After seeing all the teams do the alternate jersey thing, I'm glad the Rockets don't do it. The Rockets are RED. Should always be red on the road.
