Anyone know of any decent thrift stores that sell stuff at cheap prices? I've already hit 2 Value Village's (not the Pasadena one), a couple Goodwill's (1 off 45 and another off of 290) and a place called Second to None off of Westheimer. Anyway, anyone know of any other cheap thrift stores in the Houston area? Thanks...
Well furniture would be nice, but I'm pretty much up for anything (clothes, paintings, signs, etc) cheap. Where's Savers? Ebay's alright, I don't really care for the whole bidding process over there and would prefer to actually go out and check out the goods myself before purchasing.
Yeah go with the salvation army, However I do have a prob with some thrift stores. Irelize they are providing a service to those who lack finacially but dont rake them over the coals. i wont shop at Goodwill anymore, they are too dang expensive and they get the stuff for free. I think that should be an oxy-moron, expensive thrift store. here in Idaho there is these places called the D.I. some church runs it and you get stuff for cheap, I mean nice Rockers for 10 bucks the old lazy boys for 20 bucks and new apliances for under 150. the place is great, these guys must be scraping by on nothing cuz the stuff is sold for cheap cheap. NOw I go to Goodwill and see the same rocker for 50 and the old lazyboy for 70 and I think to myself how does the D.I. do it? Goodwill gets there stuff for free why do they charge 5 times as much
I have noticed the highway robbery of Goodwill as well. I used to go there pretty frequently, but the crap they sell is way to damned expenisve. On top of that they make it look all nice and pretty so I guess people can feel more comfortable about being broke like me, but I think its cheesy. You cant dress up **** no matter how hard you try. I mean $40 for a 1981 microwave???? I can pay $10 more and get a brand new and smaller one from Wal-Mart. Salvation Army is always the best bet (At least here in Austin). They sell pretty cheap.
