I've already stated I will vote for Obama.

Anyway's Hillary's gender, and for that matter Obama's race, didn't factor in my decision to support one or the other.

That's great. Like I said in another thread, I despise those who use such characteristics to select the choice. :)

That's like McCain picking some unknown guy name bubba and expecting to grabe the black vote.If they really believed in Hillary polices then, I don't see how they could cross over to McCain.

I'm not going to deny that there is something undeniable historical about their gender and race but I just don't think that those issues are as important as everything else. Honestly if things were different, we were a country at peace and no one was using the fear of terrorism to justify taking away civil liberties or consolidating power in the executive branch, I might be voting for McCain.

Exactly! Those that would vote for McCain now because of a woman on his ticket are guilible and not really democrats anyway. Not to mention that they really could care less about what Hillary Clinton thinks or represented as a candidate since Palin is the opposite of Hillary except for gender.

As a former Hillary voter in the Texas primary, I now plan to vote for McCain/Palin.

We need a strong foreign policy (McCain), energy policy (Palin), and economic policy (both). What we can't do is raise taxes (cripple the economy), limit the development of our natural resources (higher oil prices), or show weakness against terrorism.

If that is how you truly feel, I would be curious as to why you would have picked Hillary over McCain/Palin? Care to share?

I think he's just one of the many Republicans who voted in the Democratic primaries in an effort to give a boost to the candidate they though would be easier for McCain to beat. He thought it would be easier for McCain to beat Hillary than it would be for McCain to beat Obama.

Some of the Hillary supporters who are considering McCain cite perceived unfair attacks on Hillary by the media and Obama as a reason for potentially switching parties. I hope that they're not so naive that they think the GOP wouldn't have made those attacks look like a hearty handshake if Hillary had won the nomination.

Did you really support Hillary or were you part of Rush's Operation Chaos? Not that I'm criticizing you for it if you were participating in the latter. It's a big reason the Democrat primary lasted as long as it did and that there was so much discontent in Denver last week.

It's probably a combination of Operation Chaos and/or preferring Hillary over Obama if the next president had to be a Democrat.
