It still baffles me, nearly four years later, that this meme is going strong. Have you people forgotten how contentious the 2008 Democratic primary was? Do you not think that Hilary Clinton, the woman whom you painted as a cunning, ruthless, and blood-thirsty politician, would've allowed a foreign-born candidate to even participate in the primary against her? Do you think she didn't want the Democratic nomination (something conservatives have painted her as being desperate for, for years) badly enough that she wouldn't have outed Senator Obama as an ineligible for the presidency if it were true? Do you even realize how stupid all of you sound when the implications behind your little racially-coded bear-poke are that this is a conspiracy run through the entirety of the US government (military, Congress, executive branch, courts, the two-party system, mayoral candidates, dog catchers) just to get Barack Obama elected president. I've said it before, I'll say it again: the man was dutifully elected President of the United States. His name, by no fault of his own, is Barack Hussein Obama II. He may not look like you and you're fine to disagree with him. But, by using his race and heritage against him in this deceitfully coded way is cowardly and only shows how invested in paranoia one can become if they completely insulate their news consumption and political discourse.
you've completely missed the point of the thread. this is not a birther thread, but rather an example of how Obama may have finessed his heritage to gain preferential treatment. if he'd release his education records, it'd be easy to judge for ourselves. Gore, Bush, Kerry, Romney McCain all released their transcripts. why not Obama?

Whereas I can't say that I've ever been in the camp of Obama birth certificate doubters, I really like the Arizona strategy of threatening to keep Obama off the ballot if Hawaii doesn't produce an actual birth certificate. If five or six key swing states do the same, Obama may not be able to muster enough electoral college votes to win. The nation would emerge as the real winner!

What do his transcripts from the 1980's have to do with your theory that he engaged in a secret conspiracy to increase book sales in the 1990's by telling people that he was secretly born in Kenya in order to sell his book about being born in the US?
