It was a terrible year for the Rockets to get a top-10 pick. I am glad we traded it for something useful.
I think Morrison, Roy, Foye, and Gay still have a chance to be all-stars. I would take Morrison 1st. I have not seen any potential from anyone else.
You mean Deron Williams right, not Marvin Williams? The '05 draft is still in the early stages to tell. In their actual rookie seasons besides Chris Paul no one else did squat and their numbers would look like the current '06 draft . But very true, this year's draft surely doesnt have a Lebron, Yao, or Dwight Howard in it. Add Monta Ellis to the '05 draft and this current draft will have some catching up to do
tyrus thomas is the bigger version of ben wallace.. wait a second.. if tyrus = big ben but bigger then tyrus = huge ben HA. nah..tyrus thomas is currently leading the league in block per 48 minutes..which is damn impressive
i'd rather have Okafor instead of Araujo btw, am i missing something, but WTF has Araujo done? didnt Okafor get ROOKIE OF THE YEAR? hell you forgot BEN GORDON for the 04 class.
Are you kidding me? I don't feel like going into it now but there's 73% chance that Araujo is the very worst player in the entire NBA, for several years running. He may in fact be the worst player of his generation. Ben Gordon, Okafor, maybe Andres Biedrins are the better players from that draft.
Brandon Roy is really good - he just missed a slew of games because of a foot injury, hampering his start. He had to start all over, and he's starting to get comfortable again. Morrison is struggling to adjust to the league. Bargnani is going to take time, but he doesn't look half bad. This was supposed to be a shallow draft class, and it is. The Kenyon Martin/Mike Miller draft class was pretty awful. Evan
shame about reddick...that kid could have gone far if not for the pre season injures and better transition from college to nba...
There is no shame. The injuries are behind him and he still can't get on the floor. From this year's class, Bargnani, Roy, Morrison, Foye and Aldridge are still intriguing prospects to me. None are impact rookies but I can see some potential in these guys. The premise that this draft was weak is correct. Oden and Durant would have made things different if the rules hadn't changed.
I think Aldridge will end up being the best of this class. On top of that.. he missed a lot of time and is behind Randolph. (and is part of a crowded frontcourt that's still trying to showcase Magloire) And yeah, Roy will be pretty damn good. At LEAST those 2..
You haven't watched Foye play much. He already takes (and hits) their clutch shots. He plays down the strech and is being hindered b/c the paid James all that money and they are splitting time. Watch one TWolves game and tell me James deserves more then 8 minutes of Foyes PT. Foye has superstar potential. Roy will be a very good player. Gay has all the tools but that team is so terrible that he's falling victim to his surroundings (plus he laacks aggressiveness like they said). Morrison sucks. Aldridge looks like he'll be good.
bargnani is going to be a superstar, it might be to early to see him as the next nowitski, but that's what he's going to be...the guy has the exact same game, all he needs is time to work on his game.
