I think it's MoT but he's a guy that needs the ball to score. He's not a guy that gets a lot of garbage points so he's not necessarily a great fit for the team. I could see him scoring about 20 for another team though.
Either Taylor or Jackson, depending on which day of the week it is. No question we need someone better than either, though. Need more scoring punch and a better rebounder at PF.
if Taylor's our third best, how does he rank among the best power fowards in the NBA? is he a top 10 OFFENSIVE power forward?
JJ. I just don't see how anybody could vote for Mo. Every point he scores on the offensive end he gives up 3 on the defensive end. C'mon, everybody knows that the 4 position is the one that's killing us this year. Anytime when that happens you know that position isn't your strong point.
Yep! Remember, as the wind blows, some change their views. The last game has swayed peoples opinions. MoT had a good game (hit a clutch shot). Therefore he's the "best?" As you said, JJ is the 3rd option. Especially since he's putting in 40 minute per game while MoT and Howard are sharing minutes (27 + 20).
I always liked Mo T, he can be one hell of a low post player if he puts his mind to it. I believe if he was been drafted by the Bobcat this year, he could be averaging 20 ppg right now.
you may be right, but that is not the question it is WHO IS (right now) the third best player ...and the answer is Jim Jackson.
Interestingly enough, a lot of basketball experts feel that NBA teams are only as good as their third best player. This is a common way of breaking down a team. The reasoning is that, in the meat of the game (the 2nd and 3rd quarters), there are going to be times when only one of your two best are on the floor. Most teams have at least some ability to take away the first option. So, that means the next-best guy on the floor at that time has to take up the slack for a big part of the game. Teams like Detroit were able to overcome the need for a superstar player by spreading the wealth to a range of 4 or 5 different guys. That is rare in the NBA, however. So, you have to have a decent 3rd and 4th option. The big problem we have is that we don't have anyone after T-Mac who can create shots for himself and others. Say what you will about Mobley, but he was able to do that when Steve or Yao wasn't in the game. That is such an important aspect of the NBA game and it can't be understated. I think Sura will help and you can see they want Lue to go to the basket more when he is out there, but I'm just not sure either will be enough. Jackson isn't a guy that really can get his own shot any longer. He doesn't have a quick enough first step. And big men like Taylor aren't designed to be off-the-dribble players, so they can't really create shots. That is definitely a problem for this team right now.
I agree.iam not sure who is th ebest ,but iam pretty sure mo could average 20 on another team.jj is a solid nba player though.
ha ha, yeah, I had to stare at that list for a long, long time before finally deciding to just not vote. We're getting better, though. Sura will make us better still. And it'll be glaringly obvious by the offseason where we need replacements. *cough*pg*cough* So, it could be worse. We could be the Pacers...
i'd say mo. jj plays more minutes and gives us good D as well, but mo's offensive game is very good. is he a top 10 offensive PF? i'd say easily. after duncan, garnett, and webber, how many PF's are any better on O than mo? jermaine i guess (well not for the next 25 games) but even then he really separates from mo with D and rebounding. brand? probably the same thing. mo's pretty much second tier offense at PF. jj is no where near that at SF. so while jj may play more and do it on D, mo is the better overall player. he'd get more in free agency i'm 100% sure.
Zach Randolph, Amare Stoudemire, Pau Gasol, Rasheed Wallace, Carlos Boozer, Dirk Nowitzki....just name a few
wow, it must be late. i kinda zoned out on PF's and didn't bother looking them up. although boozer and sheed are not better. and i think zach is debatable (he just shoots so much). but obviously dirk and amare (although again to be fair i had that duncan/kg/webber list in my head from last year when amare wasn't better) are. shame on me for forgetting my two fantasy guys in dirk and amare.
