Langhi can't create his own shot.

Actually that's one of the things that separates Langhi from the old Bullard comparisons - he CAN create his own shot.

Langhi can't hit the shots set up for him.

With about 10 minutes total PT for the entire 2 years, I don't think u can accurately judge him in that area.

    Langhi cannot handle the ball

The man is 6'10, maybe even 6'11 - he's not supposed to be a great ball handler. His handles aren't great, but they are adequate. They are probably better than TMo's also.

Langhi is not a good passer or have good court vision.

Agreed, but that should improve with time. Cuttino had the same problem.

Langhi usually looks lost when he's on the floor.

Agreed, but that should improve with time also.

Langhi's best game was in the 2000 summer league while being guarded by Harold Arceneaux, a chubby, 6'5" small forward who isn't playing in the NBA right now.

If u read, in his first summer league game, he lit up Lamar Odom (and yes Odom was actually guarding Langhi) for 23 pts & 6 assists.

I'm not saying that Langhi is some all-star, but u gotta give credit where credit is due. Ok maybe that's a bad statement, but you're just 2 harsh on Langhi. I agree that Tmo can do a lot of stuff better than Langhi, but Langhi can be a valuable contributor if he just gets some time.

    First season--20 mins. per game, 40 fg%, 8.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg
    Second season--36 mins. per game, 46 fg%, 17.5 ppg. 6.5 rpg

Exactly. Look at the minutes that Dirk got, and look how he improved. You cannot get better if you don't play... simple as that. Yes the man will make mistakes but he's basically a rookie b/c he hasn't played any sort of minutes yet.

I agree with Det the Threat in that I doubt Langhi will reach Peja or Dirk's level, but it is not inconceivable that he will reach a level similar to Laetner's if he only gets the PT. But, it is becoming more and more clear that Langhi will NOT get the minutes he needs, and it is quite a disappointment b/c he was PROMISED more minutes this season. o well hopefully he'll find another team next year that is willing to play him.

Actually that was not his first summer league game. Langhi first played in the summer league in 2000 - your link is for a 2001 summer league game.

Odom is not really a good defensive player, but it does show Langhi is not completey useless. Then again, if Langhi had held Odom to under 20, I'd be impressed. Funny enough, the actual article (not Zack's comment column) talks about Terrence Morris doing a good defensive job on Odom. The only mention of Langhi guarding Odom consists of Odom blowing by Langhi for a finger roll.

I would agree that Dan needs to time in order to not "look lost" except that he's had time. You don't learn your place on the floor in games; you learn your place in practice. Langhi has had a year and a half of practices to learn where to be. Yet in every game I've seen, he gets in the way of his teammates (and he doesn't exactly move his ass quickly to the right spot once this becomes obvious).

Langhi is not a better ball-handler than Morris. I don't know how you could ever think this.

Basically, the love for Langhi seems to be based on the fact that he (a) dunks pretty well for a white guy, and (b) supposedly is Bullard with fancy moves. But dunking doesn't win games, and Langhi has shown none of Bullard's saavy or ability to play in a team concept. He really hasn't even shown that he has Bullard's shot. My guess is that if Langhi were the deadeye that everyone claims him to be, he'd be on the floor right now. But Rudy won't play him - my guess is because Dan isn't a deadeye in practice or game and doesn't bring any other useful baskeball skill to the table. As atrocious as Morris' shot has been, he does bring rebounding, assists, perimeter D and shot-blocking to every game. That's why he's a keeper and Dan should be cut.
