Right on Francis. I dont recall Novitzki ever beating out an athletic marvel like Stromile Swift for SEC player of the year. The fact that Novitzki played college ball in Germany is irrelevant [IMG]

Snowman and Francis, i was wondering since you two are both Prez's of your respective clubs, is it okay if I'm VP of both of them?

I agree that Langi has potential but, I have to say that I have been disappointed in what I have seen so far. His shooting percentage is terrible. How many CBA'ers have the Rockets signed 10 contracts with that came in under the pressure of knowing they only have a few chances to show they could play in the NBA and they did. Langi has been with the team all year so he doesn't have the pressure of knowing he has to perform or be gone and he has really only had 2 or 3 games that showed he shouldn't be in the CBA. Hopefully he will shoot better and be more consistant next year.

Does anyone else see Peja Stojakovic as a better comparison for Langhi than Nowitzki? Peja is smooth-shooting SF who can put the ball on the floor too, right?

"Novitzki was a lottery pick cuz Don Nelson isnt afraid to take chances with foreign born players."

"I dont recall Novitzki ever beating out an athletic marvel like Stromile Swift for SEC player of the year. The fact that Novitzki played college ball in Germany is irrelevant."

Nowitski was picked in the lottery because he dominated Al Harrington, Rashard Lewis, Korleone Young, Dan Gadzurick, Corey Maggette, and yes even Stromile Swift in an all-star game. Those were the top big men in the 1998 high school class. The International team with much more inferior talent beat the top high school players that year because of Dirk. I think he poured in 35 with 15 boards against the U.S.A. team. They put everyone on him, but couldn't stop the man. What Dirk did in that game was exponentially more impressive than Dan Langhi's SEC player of the year run against the likes of Jamal Magloire, Stromile Swift, and um...well who else was in the SEC with comparable size and skill. Dirk is a legit 7 footer with a very long frame, better ball handling skills, better shooter, better passer, runs the floor brilliantly, and a tremendous finisher around the basket. Langhi looks more like 6'8" and 6'9" than 6'11". And he looks like he weighs 170 rather than whatever his listed weight is.

Dan has shown some skills to be a very serviceable player. But he really needs to work on his game. He needs to add weight and strength like no other player. Some of ya'll make it sound so easy to add bulk and strength for a player his size. For some people like Marcus Camby, Shawn Bradley, and countless of other players come into this league and never manage to bulk up. And the way he's built, if he does manage to gain a decent amount of weight, that might just take away some of his core competencies like quickness and leaping ability. We'll see how much he can improve when the summer league games and training camp rolls around.

I think the two should fight each other for the right to retain that title.

There can only be one... [IMG]

From what I have seen on this board from eye-witnesses that saw Langhi in person standing next to Dream and Cato, they say he is taller than Hakeem and at least as tall as Cato. I think the 6'11" is not an exaggeration.

Langhi does not have the body type to put on bulk. People saying he needs to add bulk had better get over it, because it's not going to happen.

For his position, he really doesn't need to add bulk. Does Francis need to bulk up? Stevie gets banged around big time when he goes to the hoop, and he has a lower center of gravity that Langhi.

Langhi is strong enough. Extra strength will not help him from getting banged around under the basket. He has a very high center of gravity, and extra strength alone will not change that. Haven't you guys ever seen any wiry farm boys that weren't much bigger than a stick, but stronger than hell?

Langhi is a swing man and when he does go to the basket, he is as prone to getting knocked down by a center or power forward as any other guard/forward except SAR/Fizer types.

Da Man, you need to get your eyes checked. Langhi is within 1/4 of an inch of anyone on the team.

Is it just me, or does no one else know who Dan Gadzurick and Korleone Young are? And Rashard Lewis isnt that much of a big man either. I'm telling all of you Langhi is the next big thing for this team.

He needs to bulk up so that he can be more effective in drivin to the whole, so he can become a more well rounded player.

AS for D... If he bulks up...who knows maybe he mite be knockin people down [IMG]

Langhi is aite, better than Cato anywayz. Damn Cato is gettin' paid the 2nd or 3rd highest on the team...$42 mil over six years! WTF??!! That's a lot of $$ for a guy that can't hold onto the ball. Seems like he never tries. We needa waive him and spend that money on CWebb. I'm out...

Yep bulk up like George Gervin, cause skinny guys can't play in the NBA.

Langhi just needs time to get comfortable, he will learn when to turn it on, and when to conserve energy, but it has to be done on the floor.

I think Langhi is better then Swift, and IMHO, if Langhi would have been in the rotation instead of Walt the Rockets would have made the playoffs.

Langhi will be a player in the NBA for many years, we should all hope that he is a player for our team.

Yooung was a talented high schooler who skipped college I believe. Gadzuric is a very good college plaeyr at UCLA who will prolly get drafted in round 1 next year.

i really havent seen to much of langhi play because i go to school up here in Dallas. However, if you guys are right about him being the next Dirk Nowistski, which i have see a lot of up here, then the Rockets would be a sweet team!!! We would have 3 20 points scorers on this team, not including any free agent acquisitions. However, Langhi does seem to need more playing time and we can see how he would compete in the NBA.

Kevin Garnett does pretty good playing PF and he is a rail. Dan will fill out, but I don't think he has to bulk up over the summer to be able to play.

Right. KG is more intimidating because of all those NBA minutes he has under his belt, not because of his "bulk."
