In all due respect, that just strikes me as creepy, like calling someone the "colon," or the "bladder." I think body parts or vital organs are out as nicknames. ;)

Mike, your nickname creating rights have been taken away from you... imagine the opposing team's media outlets harping on the fact that the Rockets got de-Veined (like shrimp) when Tracy has a bad game. It could get worse than the lame "Houston, we have a problem" headline that is supposed to seem so witty when used by all the thick-headed out-of-town media folks.

No. No Vein. No, no, a thousand times no.

Besides, I hear TMac gets peeved when you don't call him "TMac"... I may already be on his hit list now that I've called him "Tracy" in this post. :(

That article cements Ralph Wiley's status as Dork-extraordinaire.

Unless we start calling Yao the Needle, I don't think the Vein will take off. This is too weird. "The Needle passes the rock to the Vein. IT'S GOOOOOOODDDDD!"

I respected Wiley and his work, but that TMac piece was an extremely hard read, even though I really wanted to read and enjoy it. I finally gave up when he used the 2,397th reference to Dune...somewhere in the 3rd paragraph I think.

It would've been much more enjoyable had he just praised TMac without all the Dune crap thrown in. Or at least used a reference point not so dorky...like Star Trek maybe!:D
