We are a flawed team. 3 players on rookie contracts starting for us, poor 3 point/free throw shooters, and a mostly non-existent bench. This team hasn't found the flow. The offense looks forced, the defense relies too much on Howard and Asik to be superhuman, and we're prone to big mistakes at crucial points in the game. All this to illustrate how bright the future looks: 1) what happens when we fix the bench, which will inevitably happen when we use the MLE? 2) what happens when we get our 3rd star, which is an almost certainty with the cap space we will have in 2015? 3) what happens when we bring over our euro stashes? This season was never going to be "the year". We are a flawed team as much now as we were when the season started. Sure I'm disappointed that we are likely headed out in the 1st round, but we aren't as far away from a championship as many will assume. Stay upbeat, and trust the front office to make the necessary adjustments.
The truth is Paul Allen is paying the refs to make it happen --- NFL and NBA Championship! Just kidding, I don't know if that's the truth...but awful officiating since Game one. Tim Donaghy saying the truth?
Every team in the league is flawed. There is no perfect team. Reality is we are a more talented squad than portland and at the very least should be a 2-2 series. We have the talent to win a ship but it just sucks that we can't seem to find a way to win these close games like portland has been able to.
