I just got back from seeing it. I think it was written better than your average episode of late. There was an actual story arc, and some very early Simpsons references that were pretty neat. It was a good time, like an afternoon out with a good friend that you haven't seen in a while. Familiar, but new and fun.

    i just thought about something....

what the hell happened to the pig after the whole dumpster fiasco? He was basically THE plot of the movie, well his sh*t was, but just disappeared.

I loved it. I haven't really watched the Simpsons in years, but I enjoyed the show back in the 90s. Most movies don't really make me laugh out loud, I'll just smile or chuckle . . . this movie had me (and everyone in the theater) practically rolling during several scenes. Whomever said it was like visiting an old friend was dead on -- it was like seeing a band you used to love but haven't paid attention to for years, then realizing why you loved them so much. Just fantastic, and I'll probably see it again.

Longtime Simpsons fan here- A+ The Simpsons Movie was awesome! It was pretty much non stop gags from start to finish- and the audience I was with was laughing throughout the entire movie. I particularly liked the animation, the entire production looked and felt alot more epic than just your standard episode. I am definitely seeing this at least one more time in theaters. :D

Just read that it took in an estimated 71.8 mil. opening weekend / 167mil worldwide! According to Fox, it opened bigger than any Pixar film and bigger than any non-sequel animated film ever. It's also the biggest opening for a non-CGI animated film including sequels (the previous record holder was Disney's The Lion King).

It was okay. It made me laugh a few times.
It was definetly better than today's Simpson Tv Standard.

I can't really complain. Paid $3.50 to go see it, and it was fun to watch for the most part.

I went to see it with my kids. The first 15 minutes were about the funniest movie experience I've ever had. It was a hoot and I'm a very casual Simpsonian.

It's a F*CK*NG movie with cartoons trying to do stupid things that are entertaining. GET f*ck*ng OVER IT. STFU, sit your *ss down, watch the movie, laugh or don't laugh at some parts, and say that you liked it or didn't... it's a F*CK*NG movie. It's like trying to understand WOMEN: don't f*ck*ng try to make sense of it...

I liked it. I thought it was entertaining but all that nudity and cursing and what not should have gotten it an NC-17 rating.

I answered your SPOILER questions, Smokey.

F*CK all the haters...this movie kicked ass. Ralph Wiggum is officially my favorite ancillary character of all time.

    "I like men now!"

I literally could not breath after that line...

Saw it yesterday, I thought it was stupid. I just don't get the new Simpsons humor.

But the theater was packed and lots of people seemed to enjoy it.

New humor, it was very traditional Simpsons humor if you ask me.

Personally, I loved it. Laughed throughout the entire thing. Lots of stuff in there for long time fans like myself, esp. the crowd scenes where they put in tons of one shot characters from the series

yeah, i havent seen it yet but from reviews i've read and listening to comments from cast and crew it appeared as though they made it much more like the prime years.

Saw it this past Saturday - I liked it but I thought they were trying too hard at times and it was raunchier than I would have liked. The Simpsons during their glory days (seasons 3 through 6) have always been hilarious without getting that raunchy like the Movie was. I guess they felt since it was on the bigscreen that they had free access to get wild.

Ralph has always been the top character for me, easily. He has the best one liners in the history of the show.

Saw it last night, it was great. I haven't seen an episode in at least 5 yrs, and like others have said it was like a reunion w/ old buddies. Jokes were fast and furious, the storyline actually had a heartwarming ending (Simpson's style of course), and it didn't feel too long or too short. For me the jokes either killed or were so-so, but I highly recommend this one overall. Especially for those growing up in the 80's/early 90's, this has been a fantastic summer w/ the Transformers and Simpson's.

I hope they come up w/ a sequel, this time w/ a story centered on Homer and notable characters, like Apu, Wiggum, Moe, etc.

I think Mr. "I haven't watched Simspons in a decade" guy has surpassed Mr. "I loved so and so band before anyone else had heard of them" guy in level of annoyance.
