is Artest. Hate to say this but he is too much of a selfish player to fit into the Adelman system. And it's not really his fault, this is how he was forced to play the past few years. He tries to do too much IMO. You guys say Tmac holds the ball too long? Yes he does, but so do Artest and Yao. And they either turn the ball over or they take tough fade-away jumpers. With Tmac atleast he makes some good plays to get easy points. Stop blaming Mcgrady, he is not the problem. He has looked better and better every game. He will get to that superstar level soon. But with Artest in there, the offense just becomes stagnant. He tries to force up alot of shots, specially down the stretch. You can see McGrady get pissed off everytime Artest takes a tough fadeaway when we need a big shot. Solution...Bring Artest off the bench and play him with the second unit. Alot of times we put all our "big 3" on the bench at the same time and the second unit doesn't have any go to guy except wafer. Artest can give our second unit a post presence and at the same time will teach him how to run the Adelman offense. DISCUSS!!
That's what they are doing, it just so happens when he comes out in the 4th quarter, it's to close out a game or because we need defensive presence to stop the bleeding. I agree though... As much as I love Ron's heart, the Rockets might not be the best place for him to shine. Hindsight is always 20/20.
Actually, I thought Artest was did pretty well with the second unit tonight. It was when he was on the court with Yao and McGrady that problems seemed to emerge.
na, tonight's problems were really turnovers.. when you lost the ball multiple times even before starting your offense (leading to easy layup on the other end), it's likely you will lose (i am pretty sure if we had 2 less turnovers, we would have won this game).
Artest should be coming off the bench. Him and Wafer is a good combo in the 2nd unit IMO, inside threat and outside threat.
I wasn't talking about Tonight's game, I was talking about the entire season so far. Artest just doesn't fit in with Mcgrady and Yao in the lineup. They don't compliment each other well. Artest wants the ball too much to be able to play off of yao or mcgrady.
I disagree In fact I believe he heard the cries of the CF's because he was moving today and passing. To be honest it seemed to me he was scared to shoot as to not be selfish. Get out of here with the B...S...
But he needs to play with second unit for the most part. He can't play off of someone. He has to have the ball in his hands at the start of every posession. When Adelman puts in all 3 at the same time, everyone looks confused. All 3 of our stars want the ball. Mcgrady is willing to pass it to Yao if he has position, Artest just wants to do everything by himself.
What about that ugly fadeaway that we all knew would never fall when we needed a big shot? Learn to respect everyone's opinion and you will they will respect yours. Instead of calling it BS. I love Artest because he is probably the only one on this team that shows some heart. But you need to get off his eggroll just because he made a couple of passes.
Dude everyone had ugly shots. But not accepting the fact that he today was moving himself and the ball compared to the other shows he is receptive of fixing mistakes unlike another player who played the same way with exception of making more shots this time around. But I agree with you I went off a little too harsh expressing my disapproval with Tmacs last 5.8 secs game time decision.
What Artest are you watching? The Artest I watched up until tonight was camping out at the 3 point line just like T-mac and being a ball stopper just like T-mac.
Sorry but he was doing more moving and ball moving then Tmac easily. He improved that aspect of the game from ytd hugely. Taking open shots is not ball stopping just cause you miss.
I am talking about the whole season. Both T-mac and Artest have been ball stoppers and haven't moved on offense. Tonight T-mac moved without the ball, so I don't get where you're getting at on that point neither. How can anyone who watched the game tonight seriously say T-mac was standing around and stopped our movement the whole game?
Whoa! Dude you just mentioned in this thread to the very post I replied to before this one that they Both were ball stopping today. Which is when I attempted to put my 2cents in saying Artest didnt do as much ball stopping as you claim. So you need to make up mind homeslice. Did they or did they not. Also when a discussion comes up about a game try to stick with that game, either your talking about that game or the whole season but it sounds like your using Artest whole season ball stopping against him in this game. When it was apparent to see that he was told to move with or without the ball and stop taking so much guarded shots. Definitely a improve. And I still have to disagree but Tmacs still didnt make too many of ball movements for noticing.
With the rise of Von wafer - Artest is expendable. Von Wafer is like a younger version of Artest, except Von wafer is faster, shoots better, finishes stronger, and jumps higher.
