I think NBC will find a way to ruin the legacy of a truly hilarious BBC series in grand fashion. I bought and finished both seasons and plan on watching the Office movie when time permits this weekend. Favorite quote; When cherries are red they're ready for plucking When girls turn sixteen, they're ready for.... GARETH!!
I just got The Office: Series One from Netflix yesterday..haven't watched it yet but I'm hoping it will live up to the hype
I've seen the full US Pilot. It's essentially a word for wrod adaptation of the original series. The Garreth character was completely miscast, and the Tim character doesn't have his trademark look of disbelief that the original pulled off so well. Steven Colbert is no Garvis, but is passable. If I had never seen the original this would be okay, but it really falls flat compared to the UK version.
Dude, I WISH it was Steven Colbert. Samantha Bee as Dawn, Ed Helms as Gareth, Rob Cordry as Tim and Lewis Black as Finchy. Honestly, The Office is pretty much the most perfectly executed TV series ever - they went 12 for twelve, shut it down, added an incredible postscript and called it a day. Artistically, why would anyone revisit this?
i've seen it too...just google the office american version, and it should be on the first page of results...the US version sucks HORRIBLY compared to the BBC classic...
I just found out that All in the Family, Sanford and Son, and Three's Company were all based on succesful British shows. WTF?
