After seeing the tribalism of both parties and seeing how both sides resort to their corners with the remaining population stuck in the middle. I am reminded of this song. I know this is a Simon & Garfunkel cover, written in the aftermath of the death of President John F. Kennedy. Disturbed brings a new life to the song especially in these times. I really wish everyone would listen and reflect. The Simon & Garfunkel original was a bit lighter and simpler to this version as this one is a bit darker and perhaps rightfully so in this time we live in. So when we argue and debate on here I wish people would really listen to the lyrics of Paul Simon
“I have broken more Elton John records, he seems to have a lot of records. And I, by the way, I don’t have a musical instrument. I don’t have a guitar or an organ. No organ. Elton has an organ. And lots of other people helping. No we’ve broken a lot of records. We’ve broken virtually every record. Because you know, look I only need this space. They need much more room. For basketball, for hockey and all of the sports, they need a lot of room. We don’t need it. We have people in that space. So we break all of these records. Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.” - President Donald Trump 7/5/2018
"And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming" Paul Simon
