According to Prince. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=509090>1=28102 Prince: 'The Internet is over' July 5, 2010, 4:20 PM EST WENN Music superstar Prince is adamant he will never sell his songs on the Internet, insisting Web-based outlets will soon disappear because they are no longer "hip." The "Purple Rain" hitmaker has long battled to keep his music offline -- in 2007 he sued YouTube.com and eBay.com claiming they "are clearly able (to) filter p*rn and pedophile material but appear to choose not to filter out the unauthorized music and film content, which is core to their business success." Prince has also moved to ban fansites using images and anything linked to his likeness, while a home video of a child dancing to one of his songs on YouTube was pulled down in 2007 after the star's Universal Music Publishing claimed the recording infringed copyright. The artist is still refusing to allow Web sites to sell his music and he's adamant fans will soon move on from the Internet. Related: Prince in photos He says, "The Internet's completely over. I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it. "The Internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you.
Hey Prince, this is the internet here, just wanted to say you got it wrong, we are not over, it is YOU that is over. DD
Maybe he just thinks it is going into a contract disagreement, soon to be known as TAFCAI, the awesomeness formerly known as internet.
Remember when Prince claimed copyright infringement on youtube videos of him covering "Creep" by Radiohead? http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news...article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003809963 Said performance... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDBQCBK7gwg
I had an awesome YouTube I will no longer be able to share with you guys. FYI, Prince, you went the wrong way, man, like your career. We've already downloaded your "New" Music. It sucks again.

Watch "An Evening with Kevin Smith" In addition to being interesting and hilarious, Kevin Smith has a GREAT story about Prince. Worth a watch. You may even be able to find it on the tube.
I've been trying the Chappelle Prince playing Charlie Murphy video on youtube and can't find the whole thing so maybe Prince is seeing to it to take down the Internet.
I'm not sure which is more ridiculous, Prince saying the internet is over or Roger Ebert saying video games can never be art. .
