well boulevard is basically a copy of wonderwall. i loved greenday back in middle school when dookie came out but they still know less then 5 chords and billy joe's voice is just annoying to me now.

i've always thought the grammy's were a joke of an award. too many great bands and great albums have gone unrecognized. did the beatles ever win any of these things?

You obviously have an affinity for Brian Wilson which I lack. Also, your post about me hatin' on Brian Wilson was dead wrong. Nuggets4 said he deserved it because he never won a Grammy. I don't think that is a reason for someone to win a Grammy as my follow-up post meant to reflect. I said it should be based on the merits of the work. You obviously feel Brian Wilson's instrumental here and album is superior to anything Rush has ever done and is album of the year. That may very well be true but who are you to lay such claims? Isn't that just your opinion? You state it as if it were fact. They are not even in the same genre of music.

Look...Rush has things they do very well and they have shortcomings. Neil's drum solo is no cakewalk and he obviously pays tribute to Buddy Rich and "Big Band" in it. Obviously, Neil is no Buddy Rich and never will be nor was it ever claimed he was. Those shortcomings were evident when Neil tried to pay tribute to Buddy Rich in a tribute album. Neil is a rock n roll drummer first and foremost. I obviously wanted Rush to win and am obviously biased. A lot of Rush fans also think "YYZ" should have won back in '81 or whatever. You know as well as I do that it will be a cold day in hell before Rush wins any award like this. You also know the Grammys aren't always going to be awarded to the most deserving. I don't think Rush will even get a lifetime achievement award because that's just how it is. I guess were supposed to be appeased that Rush was even nominated at all.

So, maybe you shouldn't be hatin on me so much. If your any kind of Rush fan at all, then you know the die-hard Rush fans are all about Rush. This stuff your spewing about how Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys will be listened to long after we're gone while Rush will not be...I disagree completely. They each have their loyal followings. Rush will never not be listened to in the future and you know as well as I know that Rush has always had a cult following. If Rush won, then I'm sure there would be a bunch of hatin going on because Brian Wilson fans would feel they were robbed. And, maybe they had a point. Then again...the Grammy awards are not an exact science based on objectivity. In my previous posts, you will see that I never debated the merits of each of their work nor has anyone else really. It's all been about opinion up to now. As a Rush fan, I wanted my band to win at the expense of Brian Wilson and whomever else. In all honesty, this was their last shot at a Grammy probably of which the same can be said of Brian Wilson.

But, in the end, I don't really care one way or the other. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. I can count on Rush always being on the losing end and, maybe, that is what sets Rush apart from all the rest of the music industry in my eyes. And, I can sit back and say they just don't get it...which I don't think they do nor ever will.

Anyone know where I can find video of performances from the Grammy's? I'm specifically looking for Kanye West. I've googled for a while now with no luck. Wondering if anyone else may have it or knows where it is.
