He was talking abou that during inside the actors studio, I believe it's a dragon, it's a temporary tattoo for a movie he is doing.
Jimmy and John Paul were there....Robert was MIA apparently. They handed out several lifetime acheivement awards and they did so in a piss poor manner I thought. It was a total gloss over for all those who received these types of awards. Then, they would transition into the next announcements for next award category. I thought it was poorly done to save time. I didn't expect the world but I expected more than that. But, that's just me. I also think U2 could have recorded sounds of them pissing in a toilet and still would have walked out of the Grammys with an award.
Well damn it, that's annoying. Led Zeppelin is the greatest hard rock bands ever, in my opinion. Not to mention how influential they are and how many different sounds they've had, just awesome. They deserve better. Wish I coulda seen 'em.
The fact that the Grammy's have categories such as "Album of the year", and "record of the year" shows how r****dedly out of the loop they really are. The Grammy's need to be completely revamped, or eliminated.
Hmmm, it musta been nominated for an Mtv award or something smaller than the Grammy's. Still, what a God awful remake. Sorry, I really loved Talk Talk in the 80's and just think when bands as big as No Doubt start doing cover tunes, perhaps they are running out of ideas and songs. Jeez I hate their version!!!
I have liked U2 since War, but they have been way hit and miss for me since Achtung. But at least they try to evolve and often have something to say other than "Oh Baby I Want You, But You Hurt Me, So I Don't Know, Maybe Be My Angel, While I Reach For The Stars, Fall Too Hard, Because I am So Absorbed, With Me, No You, How Many Clichés, What I am Singing About, Oh Yeah, Oh Baby…." themes of so much pop these days. I like a lot of music like Green Day’s, but don’t care for Green Day much, if that makes sense. Seems like the same few chords and adolescent whiney vocals that worked when they were teenagers, but yet they have to be in what their 30s? I was trying to figure out if Neil Young was actually on stage for Sweet Home Alabama, that would have been cool. The fact Led Zep and Rush have not won awards at their peak shows all you need to about the degree the Grammy's ability recognize great work with history as the judge. Truly pitiful. Remember the also recognized Milli Vanilli. So the awards are a joke (granted not the the winners), but at least the show has some good music unlike the Oscars and what not.
That "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" song has to be the most overplayed song ever. I swear I heard that playing simultaneously on three stations yesterday.
Not a big fan of their music. I heard some horrendous remix of that song that had Wonderwall thrown in there too.
Damn, I was just about to leave this comp lab I'm currently in, but then you had to post that pic and now I have to wait for [insert erection joke here].
Hell no! Green Day is one of the best bands ever (in terms of punk rock) and one of my favorites (I think they are the best punk - and no, I don't want to start a GD vs. Sex Pistols or Clash arguement). Boulevard of Broken Dreams is an awesome song. I don't think you can say it's overplayed because that is the defintion of radio; radio overplays the s*** out of everything. That's why you listen to CD's, get an iPod, or listen to satellite radio. Blvd. isn't overplayed, it deserves it.
dude! everytime I turn on the radio I hear 'Over and Over Again...Over and Over Again' EVERYTIME! It's by Nelly and I think Tim McGraw I hear it 'over and over again'
Yes! The Grammy's are the barometer by which all great artists are measured. Jethro Tul won a Grammy in the "Heavy Metal" category with Metallica as a nominee....
Let me explain this to you: I love Rush. I have all of their albums through "Roll the Bones." They have *never* put out an album as good as Brian Wilson's "Smile." Never. "Smile" is the best album that came out in 2004. Rush is not in the same league as Brian Wilson. They just aren't. A thousand years from now people will listen to the Beach Boys. They won't listen to "O Basterista," or "YYZ," or "La Villa Stangiato," even. Rush is great and really, really underrated, but Brian Wilson is a genius. We're talking about the difference in artistry and influence comparable to that of Rembrandt versus someone like Norman Rockwell. I don't mean to be cruel, but the Neil is God stuff that a lot of us went through in high school doesn't even hold up on a drumming level once you've heard Buddy Rich. I don't mean to sound so harsh about Rush, Surfguy, but hatin' on Brian Wilson, at least in this instince, is just not going to fly for me. One final thing and I'll shut it up: Screw the Grammy's. This has always been a meaningless and lame award. Anybody listen to that Natalie Cole album that won 57 Grammy's a few years ago? Didn't think so. They people that run that show are a bunch sentimental, un-hip old fools (see Jethro Tull, for that matter). Awards and recognition are nice for the artists and their fans, but ultimately who cares? If you love a band, or song enough for them to hold a special place in your heart than surely that's all that matters.
