its funny they get a new owner from Russia then because of Yi they get slated to play games in China but they trade Yi away and while they may have been able to changed it to Washington to play in china its still the nets. Then the nets are going to London to play a few regular season games too. I wonder does the League pick up the tab for international travel for teams? I doubt the teams would petition to have regular season games overseas when it affects their own home games and revenue. but then again considering no one showed up to nets games last year maybe it was not a big loss if they didnt play that 41st game at home. Still should be a fun experience for the Nets to be able to travel to two different countries and play basketball there, especially for the guys like on the bench who may not make an olympic team or play in any of the FIBA games.
The New Owner did say he wanted to build the Nets brand (good luck) in a global scale. I guess he feels if he could expose the team then he might get European support kind of like we do with China. I bet the players hate having to fly around half way across the world to do it though.
Marketing exposure, He's got to get some return on all the money he put into this losing team until it starts to win games. I don't know if that 12-70 team would even beat this team though <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HVlkuF-gvjs&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HVlkuF-gvjs&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
