My girlfriend has been bugging me to take her to see a Opera.

I said WTF is wrong with you woman?!?!?!? I am manly man damnit!!!!!! R0ckets03 does not watch Opera!!!!!

Then she started to bug me about going to watch a Ballet!!!!

I said you must be outta of your freakin mind woman!!!!!

What kind of guy would go to watch a Ballet!!!!!!!!! EUUUUUUUUUUUU

Then she tried to bug me about Art Galleries and such. I said when they have an exhibit featuring Van Gogh or Dali or Picasso we would go. Well they dont have any of that stuff in Houston.

So now she is bugging me about watching a play. I agreed. I can stand plays. I rather like em. Just that I cant find any good ones. Well now they have The Glass Menagerie at the Alley. I know I read that bood in high school. Too bad I dont remember any of it. Someone care to remind me of what the story was? Is it worth going to?

Why cant woman just like going to the bowling alley or Putt Putt instead? I can kick ass at miniature golf!!!!!!!

Yeah....wasn't Glass Menagerie on the cover of Zest today in the Houston Chronicle? I guess that fell out while you were sorting the paper this morning looking for the sports page. :p

Does anyone else get the feeling that Rockets03 doesn't have a
girlfriend and is finally wondering about the sensitive guy angle to picking up "chicks," but is embarrassed to ask Jeff and rimmy directly about how to do it. ;)

Oh, crap, I wish I had the sensitive guy thing. My wife knows all too well how hard it is to get me to go to an art gallery or an indie film. I admit that I do like the symphony and I like chamber orchestra's (must be the music thing). I actually dated a ballet dancer before I met my wife so I saw plenty of that.

But, honestly, I'd rather watch the game than the others. The only reason I would go to any of them is because I love my wife and enjoy her company. I would never lie and suggest that I had fun at something that artsy.

Although, my wife isn't terribly patient either. We walked out at the intermission of Rent when it was here and we both hated it. Oh, well! :)

Hey damnit I always read the umm....the Art thingy section on Sudany! (Zest I think its called). R0ckets03 is not totally uncultured damnit!

And I do too have a girlfriend! The same one for the last five years. And I want to keep the same one, that is why I am willing to go to a play!

Is that like a slang for Indian Movie? I love Indian movies. Most of em are the same. Guy and girl falling in love and then singing in the fields. But once in a while they make a bad ass one. My favorite is a movie that came out just a month or two ago. Its called Lagaan. Its a movie set in 1880 when British ruled India. Some villagers have to beat the British in cricket. IT IS FREAKIN BAD ASSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Sorry, it is short for independent. Those type of films don't usually appear at the 40 screen MegaPlex theaters.

Did you know that outside Hollywood, India is the largest movie-producing nation in the world?

There's even a place over there nicknamed "Bollywood."

Actually Bollywood produces more movies per year then Hollywood. Of course the budget for one Hollywood blockbuster might be more then most Bollywood films combined.

And A-Train read my post about scoring in this thread biatch! :p

So what do guys really want? I don't like opera; the rest of the culture stuff is OK but I too would rather be bowling, playing mini golf, or watching the game (though maybe not paying 100% attention to it :) ). So I'm married now, but I wasn't at all popular with the guys before that. Anyway, I think deep down you guys really want the "girly girl" type. One who's very different from you. Those of us who bowl, play other sports, drive trucks, and hang out on Rockets boards will always have to wonder if we're really feminine enough.

Spot on Isabel.

come on...what do guys really want? I don't like opera; the rest of the culture stuff is OK but I too would rather be bowling, playing mini golf, or watching the game (though maybe not paying 100% attention to it ). So I'm out of the closet now, but I wasn't at all popular with the guys before that. Anyway, I think deep down you guys really want the "girly girl" type. One who's very different from you.
