I think it is obvious that the US was and is the most talented team in the world. Almost every single player we have can score one on five, they can break down the defense and they can jump out of the gym. Most of the time defense isn't the problem, at least when they're not choosing to shoot with a hand in their face or miss half their FTs. I think defense is their biggest problem. I don't know what the issue is. Whether it's smarts, inexperience in the rest of the world's game of basketball, laziness or team chemistry. Defense requires teamwork, commitment, hustle and communication. Our team had only been together for three weeks while everybody else has been together for years upon years. Then again, at times against Greece they were just incredibly lazy. I think if our players and coaching staff really commit themselves, then there will be no reason why we can't get gold in China. I think if we stay together and practice, that will be the best way to see how we match up against the world. No more excuses. After today, we can finally see a true test of USA basketball.

I really wish it was easier to edit nowadays...

We will finally be able to see a true measure of team USA if we stay together and practice. No more excuses. After today, we can finally see a true test of USA basketball.

The deal? In my opinion, it's just the fact that European basketball and American basketball are so different. The rules may not vary that much, but the styles that are used are so incredibly different that it bridges the talent gap.

I'm entertained by watching these World Championship games, but I think that I'm in the majority when I say that the USA's loss wasn't exactly earth-shattering to most Americans. I care more about who wins in the NBA--we can lose the World Championships and the Olympics all we want, but in the end it's still AMERICAN basketball I care about.

And some people also care about Team USA winning the gold aganist the rest of the world. Which they have failed to do so 3 times in a row.

We dont have a team. That's really all there is to it. Noone wants to commit to play international ball every year. At least no NBA Star making millions wants to.

Not to disrespect you, but I feel that this team made an effort to play the (weak- @ss) international game. They played tough and couldn't hit shots down the stretch ( where was Arenas and Allen?) but this team morphed to play the international game. I think that 3rd wasn;tbad and that we willl only go up from here.

    Maybe I'm just an optimist...

    Defense Defense Defense

It is the one area where the Americans should eat their lunch
Physical Tough One on One defense

Get inside their shirts. . . and stay there

i would suggest just adding allen or reddick to the team and you would have the 3 pt shooting improved.
