Surprisingly good IMHO ~ not too overdone (melodrama), Stalone and Ray Leonard have been fine hosts so far, and it ends with an actual fight to decide who has to leave the show. Is anyone else watching?
Well maybe there is a little melodrama, but the fight at the end was really good ~ I like that they edit out all the slow parts. The unintentional comedy of the families went to eleven tonight.
I watched for the first time tonight and at first I was rooting for Ishe to fight that cocky punk Ahmed. But then Ishe punked out, the biggest punk out in the history of the world. What a beyotch. I'm glad Jesse stepped up and won. I liked Jonathan and I thought he was going to win, but I hoped Jesse could pull the upset just to stick it to that m'fer Ishe.
I am surprised the series actually made it to air since one of the "contenders" committed suicide during the filming of the episodes. I think there was some kind of legal dispute over whether they would release his name or not to protect the "secrecy of the show" versus the "value of human life"... Anyone else know any details on this? (I missed the first show though, so I'm kinda in the dark.)
I hate reality shows in general and don't watch them, but this is clearly one of the best ones to come along in a while. No fake plastic Tiki statues or lame challenges or boring speeches that, just guys trying to kick each others ass in the ring to settle it, throwing real punches at each other.
From what I remember he killed himself after filming was done. And they really haven't focused much on him during the first two episodes...just introduced him in the first one.
Yeah, he killed himself after the show was finished ~ sad of course, but it won't have any effect on the show. This show kills survivor, apprentice, and who's my baby's daddy (etc) -- boxing in prime time can't beat that.
you could tell the other guy was gonna win by how much they were focusing on him during the periods between the two rounds

One contender that's been eliminated comes back next week. My money is on Ahmed due to his cockiness alone. It could do nothing but help keep the ratings steady to have his mouth back on the show.
I'm impressed another exciting 5 round fight (3 for 3) ~ Ahmed hit the road however your lady may stay...
The one thing that bugs me about the fights is the canned cheering. Way too over the top. Anyone who's watched any amount of boxing knows crowds don't cheer constantly like that. Shame on you Mark Burnett.
The show is pretty good. I just hope that the mainstream audience picks up on it soon - the ratings have been pretty crappy so far (hope it won't get canceled).
Ahmed got pwned. Did he even put up a good fight? I only saw the last round and he was getting hammered pretty good. Rocky understood because he's used to getting punched like that in his movies . I guess this is a pretty good show I need to start watching. They should rename the show and call it "Watch the cocky guy get his ass kicked". I guess if your not cocky about your ability...then your probably in the wrong line of work. But, there is also being overly cocky as well....which Ahmed seems to fit that bill.
