A fan has been thrown out because of something that was said outloud to the ref which the ref obviously heard. Does it matter that it was Jimmy Buffet? The NBC announcer said, "has Spike Lee ever been kicked out?" Will more fans be getting kicked out for saying things? What are the "key" words? What do you HAVE to say to get kicked out? $200-$800 and more for tickets up close and if they hear what you say, you get kicked out? This is going to be an interesting situation. keep tuned to the media affiliate of your choice for more on this issue... over and out. rH ------------------ a.k.a. in CC.net game time chat- rocketHEAD cause someone stole my nick on irc.webmaster The Psychedelic Groove House of Rockets Basketball Love! So are you trying to say that rich people shouldn't be thrown out for saying things that other people would be thrown out for because they pay more for their tickets? I think $50 tickets are more difficult for me to afford that $2000 tickets for spike lee. ------------------ The whole world we travel with our thoughts, Finding nowhere anyone as precious as one's own self. On the Rosie O'Donnell show recently, Dyan Cannon said she has been ejected from a Lakers game for "criticizing" and official. j ------------------
Steve_Francis_rules wrote No way... I'm not saying that. I'm saying The more you pay for tickets the better chance you have of getting kicked out!! Tickets that close are expensive, if the refs hear what you say, you get kicked out? I don't get it... what happens when the fan that pays $13 dollars for a ticket says something that offends someone else in the stands are there going to be fan ejection issues? What is all this gonna lead to? I think it's very subjective and will lead to new "fan ejection rules" etc... I'm just curious what other folks think. not tryin' to stir anything up... rH
I think it's damn funny that Jimmy Buffett go thrown out of the Miami/Knicks game for cursing the referees. It just goes to show you that if you are going to drink too much, it's best to do it within the safe confines of your own home! ------------------ "Blues is a Healer" --John Lee Hooker

Well, he didn't get kicked out; he got relocated. And I'm not surprised after the Iverson incident. I think they realize that fans can go overbaord in cussing at the players and instead of having players retaliate and make the league look bad, they eject the fan and make the league look bad. Really, they shouldn't have been so lax in enforcement before. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary Gafford Art Artisan

After the ref kicked out Buffet, Pat Riley asked the ref if he knew who that was. The ref said. Then Riley told him that it was Buffet. The ref still didn't know. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
...and to top it all off, he didn't even cuss (according to the Houston Chronicle) he said he called the ref a "parrot-head" I guess the ref wasn't a fan and took offense. I would've.... and he didn't get kicked, he got relocated! oh well... at least we know one of the "key" words to getting "relocated"--- parrot head! hahahahaha rH

Actually Riley was the one that asked the ref if he knew who it was. The Ref replied "No" and Riley asked him if he(the ref) was a parrot-head. The ref then threatened to throw Riley out for that comment b/c he didn't know what one was. He thought Riley was calling him some derrogatory name until someone told him what it meant. CK
