When we started the season 6-1, there was one thing different at that time then there is now. Not the leadership, not the coaching, not the toughness, but one BIG thing.

Our bench scoring, mainly Mike James. When either T-mac or Yao were not getting the job done offensively we usually had Mike James/Wells contributing on the double digits, but lately our all-stars haven't been performing, and neither has the bench.

It may seem like it's common sense, but clearly the missing link is SOME, ANY bench scoring.

Yep, it certainly is a huge reason. In the first 2 games the team got off to horrible starts, and then the bench came in and the team caught fire. Since that time, however, Mike James has not ran the fasbreak like he was, Bonzi has been really inconsistent, etc... We really need them, specifically James, to get it going.

I obviously agree...but I'm starting to think James is playing a lot like McGrady these days. He's got his big contract now, so I don't know if that's somehow played in to him also playing like he's asleep.

Absolutely agree. If MJ, Scola, Bonzi and Francis play well off the bench, we become a very good team. As it stands now, MJ is a brick waiting to happen, Scola is a foul waiting to happen, Bonzi is a missed layup or three pointer waiting to happen, and Francis is a passed up wide open look waiting to happen.

Well then people would mistake this for a T-Mac thread. Does anyone else notice that when T-Mac is out with a minor injury, he doesn't even show up to the games to support his teammates? Lazy McGrady, is a true Beyotch!

I think James needs to stop throwing up all those jumpers and Scola needs to get more touches in the low post. He can score there and we need to utilize that. Bonzi needs to attack more too. Lately he's been settling for jumpers like everyone else.

what is wrong with mike james? we should have saw this coming. when mike james did bad in minnesota, we should have known, it was not a fluke. the first 2 games for james was a fluke, not the past whole season. i guess that's what we get for having high expectation.

mike james still has the ability to give you buckets. unfortunately he looks like a ballhog when his shot isnt falling.

Actually he looks like a ballhog when he has a 3 on 1 fastbreak and tries to get a layup himself and misses.

I don't know about this season, but the last time Mike James was with the Rockets he put up more shots/minute than Yao Ming.

That's true. I can't remember seeing him on the bench in street clothes.

But now that I think of it, I don't remember seeing Yao that way either.
