... to all the poor officiating, missed free throws, the huge fines and Stern... it's a show! This is all just for the ratings. Gotta have a huge first round series somewhere. Why does it have to be so dramatic? It's TNT! So here's how it goes: First 4 games won by road teams provide ample history checking and storylines. Media goes crazy. Will the road team win again? No way they win every road game! Game 5 ends that, as the refs let the planned Finley poke go unnoticed, and T-Mac and Yao miss FTs down the stretch. But... it sets the stage for the lesser seed to pull the backs against the wall and fists swinging upset! The coaching war? More ratings! Rookie coach goes up 3-2 on established veteran! Established veteran gets huge fine (that doesn't really exist)! But against all odds, he and, NO, not STAN Van Gundy(gotta help his lil bro!) draw up the perfect gameplans and the Rockets kill the Mavericks in two straight games! The Van Gundys eventually battle it out in the Finals! T-Mac and Yao vs. Flash and Shaq! Ratings soar! The country goes crazy! And the Rockets win in 7 on a game winning 3 from McGrady off a high screen and roll over Shaq. Greatest NBA playoffs ever. And everyone involved gets nice, fat checks from the NBA. In all honesty, the Rockets come out possessed like game 1 and win on their home court, going into game 7 with some MOMENTUM!
If the league cares about it's pocket book, they want a 7 game series. Everyone knows this is the best draw in the NBA. Everyone knows the Rockets are the reason why.
