So bad i say this: the answer is TMAC's exit His bad attitude and the strange injury during the game always hurt the team, distract the players and hurt the chemistry. He occupies too many mins with low efficiency Otherwise Aaron Brooks, HEAD will not have chances to shine and so on... Rox got 4 wins during his 6 games' absence so far Pls leave the sky to AB. Let AB develop and contribute I am a fan of TMAC, it's so bad i post this. Hope he get well soon and come back with another new Mr.20m
If T-Mac fits well in the offense (which is working great right now) when he returns, and I'm sure it's going to happen, this team will be unstoppable and will catch up the other big Western Conference teams. Why trade him (BTW he won't be traded) Plus his attitude has been good these days, I was also wondering what Tracy was doing but everything is clear, he supports the team and realises how good they play right now. He won't hurt the team, I think he will be very effective in the system without taking the points of the other players. As much as this team has improved when T-Mac is out, the Rockets still need him. I just hope he will stay healthy and not get re-injured, that's a key. He has to improve his leadership and be agressive on the court with consistency.
he isn't "happy" here ... i say trade him .... i hate to say it too, cuz i'm a big fan of him, but I grow out of it, we are not going to go anywhere if Yao is playing with him, I say trade him, we don't even have to get a equal value either, just a decent player, we be lucky if anybody wants him in he first place
I have to respectfully disagree with the thread starter. T-Mac is a talent that only comes around once in a decade or so. You don't work at giving away your talents. You work at doing the 'right thing' for them. If T-Mac needs some motivation, motivate him. Just like if Yao needs some shooters or cutters around him, surround him with those. There is already a precedent for what happens when you trade away your $20 million dollar player - Minnesota Timberwolves. Anyway, the Rockets desire to win NOW. T-Mac and Yao are the best options to win NOW. Leaving time for Scola and Brooks to develop = maybe next season.
ok.. forget the championship.... TMAC never make it past the first round, if that's not a good enough motivation for him then I don't know what is...as soon as the team TMAC is on shows sign of losing he's "unhappy" and wants out, he's a quitter, once a quitter, always be a quitter, i'm just feel sorry for him because like you said he's have such a great talent but yet he doesn't have a heart of a champion, so he's wasting his talent
It would not be a good move to trade t-mac. The guy has definitely obvious deficiencies, but he is a superstar that can bring you over the top...if he buys into the system. If t-mac starts being the finisher and lets AB/Alston run the offense the way they have...watch out NBA! AB/RA, penetrating and dishing, T-mac finishing, yao dominating the low post, our PF committe cleaning up and hustling. Could be deadly.
The T-mac isn't "happy" here is all speculation and hearsay. Thankfully, the Rockets organizations will never do something as foolish as trade t-mac for a "decent" player.
Don't you guys remember last year when we went on a roll with Yao out and T-Mac leading the team? Were there threads of, "Oh yeah, the rockets are better without Yao. TRADE HIM!"? Not really. That team actually played better than this team. So far 3 of those wins we have are against teams we are suppose to beat, Knicks, Griz, Raports. Not exactly the cream of the crop. I wouldn't get too excited about those. When T-Mac comes back, we'll be even better. Just like last year when Yao came back. We didn't miss a step. Making a trade right now will just ruin whatever chemistry all of our guys even have. A healthy TMac = a MVP-type player. Yes, T-Mac is the answer.........to help us get into the playoffs.
I would trade him for Brand and Mobley assuming Brand is 80 percent of what he was before he was injured.
If Tmac is paying attention, and I believe he is, he will notice how well the team is playing by sharing the ball, and when he comes back, he will join in and the team will take off. Same thing happened the year before the Rockets won their first championship, Hakeem went out, the team won like 15 in a row and when he came back he was a much more willing TEAM oriented player, and they took off from there. I expect the same epiphany from TMac. DD
Dude, when has it even been a problem of Tmac not sharing the ball? Are you kidding me? You can accuse him of other things, but not playing team ball is not one of them. Yao and the other guys need to play just as agressively when he comes back.
its gotten pretty stupid around here w/ a lot of people believing that tmac doesn't play team ball/ share the ball. I mean we got fans, writers/ nba analysts etc. all saying he dont share the ball, but its all just ppl talking. I mean if you watch his game the guy is a willing a passer, he does play team ball, he makes his teammates better, and he has never had a problem sharing the ball on offense. The one thing that he does need to work on is committing to running the motion offense. Other than I dont see ANY PROBLEMS with tmac. Everybody is just straight up tripping around here if they think Tmac is the problem.
I don't think anyone has ever accused Tmac of being selfish, but I think he gets lazy if he is not involved in the offense. He wants to be the focal point. In Addleman's offense he is not necessarily initiating the offense as much as he is finishing. I don't think Tmac wants to do that.
When Yao came back last season we didn't miss a step, but we also didn't get significantly better. In fact, we were probably playing at the same level except worse defensively since Mutumbo was no longer needed.
Finally, somebody using some logic. Head could be average 12, maybe even 13 points a game if it wasn't for that b*stard TMac. How much longer are we going to let him ruin these young superstars. And don't even get me started on the negative affect he's had on Novak's game. He'd be dropping a triple double on people every night if TMac weren't holding him down.
I guess I need to explain the difference between playing WITH THE BALL in your hands and playing in a team oriented passing offense. No, Tmac is not selfish, he does a great job of setting up teamates..... But, that is not what the TEAM NEEDS TO SUCCEED.....we need offensive execution where everyone is involved...and rather than Tmac being the primary distributor, he shares the ball (it hops around all the players) and it ENDS in his hands rather than starts there. It is a big difference playing off the ball, than playing on it....and the team right now has all 5 players involved on the offensive side of the ball and that is WAY more difficult to guard than having it go through one or two guys. So while you are correct in saying that TMac is not selfish (I agree) he needs to undergo a TEAM oriented transformation and play the team game more than the individual one. I hope I explained it a bit better. DD PS. Blastaway, I have no idea what you are talking about, but I hope you don't leave....
