Another brilliant game by Cuttino. Zero defense on Bryant in the final seconds, and a stupid airball with plenty of time left.
He should not have played tonight, and he cost the Rockets the game. Thats at least six games that HE has lost for the Rockets.

I was just about to post this.

Before I even think about the recap, I want to say to Cuttino Mobley sit your ass on the bench and not only heal up, but wise up.

5-13 from the field tonight does NOT tell the story ... stupid, ridiculous shots and poor decisions. Yeah, the late three was nice, but how about that ridiculous drive early in the game? The brick he tossed off the backboard in the fourth? The airball three?

I don't blame Mobley for his defense on Kobe there -- Kobe made a nice move and a nice stop fade shot. I blame Rudy for allowing single coverage.

Yo Rudy... the man has FORTY-FIVE points. A tip: Might want to get on him.

Yes . . . Cuttino Mobley is the sole reason for most of our losses . . . he alone holds the balance of NBA power in his hand . . .

The Rockets don't have a problem with talent so much as simply being STUPID.

How about those two non-shots by Moochie? I'm not so much concerned about our defense, as I am about the fact that the Rockets had no focus at the end of a tight game. Even with that nice shot by Kobe from the top of the key, Houston could have still tied.

Mobley's making the same mistakes he was last year. The Rockets will not be a contender until they use what's between their ears.

(BTW, where the hell was Francis?)

Clutch, aren't you in contact with the Rockets? Can't you somehow talk to Rudy? I can't stand it anymore. I never worry about Shaq, its Kobe that scares me. Why didn't Rudy have him doubled??? Make Harper hit a game clincher, not Kobe.

I don't blame Cuttino for not defending Bryant in the fourth quarter. Our best defender, SA, couldn't handle him tonight. He wouldn't be denied.

But that 3, on the other hand, was pure, inspired stupidity. Not only did we have WAY too much time left to be trying something like that, but Mobley was just saying not a few days ago how his elbow is hurting such that he can't shoot long range, because it hurts too much.

But he put the damn shot up anyway with FIFTEEN FREAKING SECONDS left on the clock.

As for Kobe, the guy was unreal. Even when hammered he was hitting ridiculous shots. He was a man among boys out there.

I didn't realize this topic had already started because I just posted a new thread about Mobley's sorry ass.

cuttino's shot was absolutely ridiculous no doubt. but its my opinion and i agree w/ havent that the whole team is to blame for this loss.

    lack of rebounding
    lack of defense
    poor coaching- yes thats right
    poor execution
    not getting steve shots
    mooch's mistakes at the end
    turnovers
    offensive lapses
    poor transition D
not getting wiz n shandon involved more when they were hitting

    etc.

we win as a team we lose as a team. itz partly cuttinos fault but the whole team needs to do some soul searching and find they are to blame not one player.

Two threads are not enough to describe Mobley's stupidity. I don't want anyone to bring up the argument that Mobley has hit many clutch shots before. That I can not deny. Most of those big Mobley shots, however, have come off of well executed plays, not wild "jack-ups". He didn't even pass the ball ONCE on that final play. Unbelievable. With a sore elbow and everything...

Maybe they should have an old fashioned team meeting. If the Rockets have future home slumps like this, the playoffs will be far out of reach.

in case anybody hasnt figured it out: the rockets are a MEDIOCRE TEAM. they MIGHT NOT make the playoffs. THEY ARE YOUNG AND INCONSISTENT. if we were contenders it would be one thing. itz amazing how every1 acts like its the shock of the century when we lose. comon show a little patience. championship teams take years to build not 1 year of rebuilding.

    WHY CUTTINO WHY?

    ------------------
Francis out top, 9 seconds on the clock, he gives a no look pass to Cuttino Mobley, 4 seconds left, Mobley passes to an open Langhi in the corner with 1 second left! Langhi at the buzzer.......YES!!! How Sweet It Is!!

    TexasSalsa,

It is one thing to be upset when the Rockets lose. I was at the San Antonio game, and did not get upset, and I am not really upset about the loss here.

It is another thing to be upset at a player for making a completely BONEHEAD play when the game was on the line, and winnable I might add.

By the way, someone mentioned that we should have somehow gotten the ball to Wiz and Shan when they were hitting their shots...

I remember when Wiz was on a bit of a roll, but at what point in the game was Shandon hitting his shots? He seemed pretty bad for most of the game as far as I remember.

This "young team" crap is getting rediculous. Aside from Francis, Mobley and Moochie, the Rockets are not all that young. The starting center is a legend. Shandon has played in 2 NBA finals. Walt is an 8 year vet. Taylor is in his fourth year. Bullard is in his 10th. Cato, his fifth. Even Mobley is 26, with playoff experience. Francis plays beyond his years. The problem is not youth. The problem is Rudy failing to control his players. Mobley is the only Rocket who acts like a young player. He makes consistent stupid decisions. This team is too bloody talented to lose this often.
What about players like Duncan? He carried his team to a championship in his second year. He's pretty damn young. No, youth is not a valid excuse.
