You'll never convince @Commodore , because Billy Bob over on the "Come and Take it, Libtard" podcast told him Texas would succeed at secession.

This is the same douchebag putting forth the bill to pass property tax cuts only if you are married and straight.

Who actually voted for this POS?

I would bet money @Commodore would proudly go door to door for this guy asking you to vote for him. Wouldn't matter if he's a child rapist or a bigot, like he said if there's an (R) by his name he'll get out and vote for them no matter what. That's the state of GOP constituency...

Texas (or enter various state here) wants to secede from the USA!

    "Ok? So?"

I'm going to propose a vote by the citizens of Texas (of enter various state here).

    "Have fun"

Texas is going to be it's own Republic!

    "Nope"

"It will after the voters vote to be separate!"

    "Nope"

    Why not?

"Long answer is that the US federal government will not allow it."

    It is in our Constitution!

    "Cool."

Oh well the SCOTUS will allow it.

"No they won't, but it won't matter because the US government will never let a state leave the Union."

Then we will do what the colonists did and fight!

"Can I have your estate after you die?"

I'm all for it, but as others said, it likely wouldn't succeed (unless things get much worse) and it also might not be legal

Found what I was referring to earlier. Remember, state compact theory is not the worst legal theory out there, but it's historically wrong, and generally used to support a state's argument when it doesn't like what the national government is doing.

Now, I think there is a distinction that should be made for an agreed upon separation after a deliberative debate between the parties. New England had a short period of wanting to withdraw from the US, but it was a negotiation with the USA. When the Confederate States seceeded, it was done one-by-one starting with South Carolina, unilaterally. It was completely illegal (according to Lincoln) and to be real, it was just poor sportsmanship to their own poor decisions trying to defend an immoral system. Democrats dominated the government, but internal bickering lead to the party splitting in two, leading to Lincoln. Secession was simply Southern states not liking election results. And if you can leave after losing an election, then the Constitution has not power at all. So Texas, unilaterally, cannot legally leave. It also states in the beginning of the Texas Constitution that ours is subordinate to the US Constitution.

The Abbot-Rogan debates will be spicy. The man who can't feel his toes vs. the man who is a toe.

    That's cute. It doesn't mean s***...but it's cute that they're trying. It's important to have a hobby...even if they're brain dead ones.

He may be able to get into this hypothetical sovereign Republic if he brings an AR-15, wears a cross neckless, put a USA flag pin on his suit, and be willing to seek asylum from the radical left and its policies.

If it is on the primary, does that mean it's to ask whether it should be a plank in the Republican platform? I would think so.
