I emailed him the link. I wanted to see yall mix it up! LOL :D

He emailed me back and said he enjoyed all the feedback. I told him Hornfans.com was probably 10 times as bad as anything in here and he said he tried going over there but the site was down or something. Oh well...

Or perhaps he realized that since the majority of us live in Texas and we can all use computers in at least a rudimentary way, we must therefore be the super-geniuses of Texas and can easily terrorize his mind from afar.

    Yall come back now, y'hear.

here is what he wrote me:

Most Stanford students I've talked to thought the column was pretty funny. The topic of the quality of Stanford sports fans is old enough that I'd have a hard time imagining anyone at Stanford getting worked up about what I said. We at Stanford are pretty good at making fun of ourselves. As far as sports go, I think we're excellent fans when we're in attendance. Witness the heckling at a basketball or soccer game and I think even a Texas fan would be impressed. It's just that we're not the most faithful attendees. I am not a Rockets fan (I honestly don't follow basketball too closely). Someone sent me an email with a link to your message board, so that's how I found out about it. It's funny; the emails I got early in the morning, right after the article came out, were Texas fans telling me they liked it. As the day wore on, I got more and more angry letters. Do Texans lose their sense of humor after 10 am? =)

seems like a good guy. i really wish Texas fans hadn't written him nasty emails... sure there were stereotypes thrown in, but it was all tongue-in-cheek... if anything, stanford students should be upset that one of their own was cracking back on their lack of sports enthusiasm.

I'd have never guessed it was your first column. ;)

Perhaps I should have bolded the word jackass, as that was the main point of my retort. But I digress.......

    :p

Surprise, surprise. I thought all nerds at Stanford followed basketball. Oh well...

Apparently the editor hasn't visited New York.
