When are they going to come around and bring casinos to Texas so I don't have to waste so much gas money to get to Lake Charles?

I'm glad there aren't any here. It discourages me from driving to LA. I don't like going in the first place. But a couple of weeks ago I was goaded by a couple of friends and caved. So what happened? I just threw away $400.

Yeah - there are already casinos in TX. Port Aransas has one for sure. My friends parents "live" there every weekend.

It probably been over 5 years now since I first heard this but weren't they trying to legalize gambling in the Galveston area?

I'm sure that talks long gone after the Hurricane.

Actually there was a little momentum in the Legislature at one time to have Casino gambling in Galveston to help speed the financial recovery from Ike...not sure where it stands at this point though.

It's kind of weird, the widespread proliferation of gambling has kind of taken the away the whole thrill of gambling for me. There use to be something that got me incredibly excited about going to Vegas. Now, it's like I can get my fix in a lot of places outside of Vegas and it's just not the same...

I for one, have been very lucky at casinos. I dont ever spend more than I can afford, so like the poster above, I dont think of it as throwing away $400. Its like going to a arcade for adults!!! Damn, someone just gave me the fever.
