So hubby bought a parking pass for all of home games...it looks like he and his buddies are starting a tailgating team this season. We have went to a few tailgates last season but never every home game so it'll be a first.

For guys who tailgate regularly, are there any pros and cons doing this? I'm a bit concerned that it'll be $$$ (food and drinks). He says that everyone will pitch in but I know sometimes it's not the case and people just show up with nothing.

What should I do to help out? Dress up as a Texan cheerleader?

^ THIS!!! it'll not only help him, but the rest of us too...

I too would be concerned about people not pulling their own weight, but just suggest everyone put upfront money everyweek and have someone be designated to buy crap with that money...

Yeah the problems with tailgates are people never contribute equally or even attempt to. One guy ends up doing all the cooking and then no one ever wants to clean up. Then people bring friends and forget to get them to chip in. Even picking what to eat is annoying.

Tailgates are great but if you are orchestrating them they get annoying after a while.

Depending on the friends and how involved people get, there will be a big discrepancy in work done and money spent. Usually the ring leader bears the brint of the costs.

There are 5 of them including my hubby and they all are supposed to split the costs...hubby and his cousin are the only one that has parking passes. His cousin is the ringleader. They are talking about the TV. Last year, one of the guys brought his tv and in mid of cheering and jumping around after a touchdown, one of them knocked the TV down and his wife got mad so he is not bringing his TV this year. They were talking about pitching in for a new TV but the issue is who keeps it? They don't really want to do that so my hubby thinks we should get a new TV. We only have two TV and one of them is a big screen TV and another POS TV. I told him if we do buy a new 35-40 inch TV and there has to be something in the contract for the other guys to pitch in $$ if our TV breaks at a tailgate.

I am not trying to damper his excitement at all or be a nagging wife about $$. I am for tailgating but just don't want it to end up as a fortune in the end.

Sorry guys, looks like adult size texans cheerleader outfits are not available so a Texans tank top and shorts will do it.

I'm not trying to do anything but if $$ is involved and I think I have a right to say something.
