At least 15 people are dead after a mass shooting at a Prague university, police chief says

PRAGUE (AP) — An armed man opened fire in a university building in downtown Prague on Thursday, killing at least 15 people and sowing widespread panic with one of the Czech Republic’s worst mass shootings of its kind, police and the city’s rescue service said.

The bloodshed took place in the philosophy department building of Charles University, where the shooter was a student, Prague Police Chief Martin Vondrasek said. He has not been named publicly.

Police gave no details about the victims or a possible motive for the shooting at the building located near the Vltava River in Jan Palach Square. Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakusan said investigators do not suspect a link to any extemist ideology or groups.

    RIP

There will be **** happening worldwide at the wrong place or time to cheer up the news cycle.

Hug your loved ones. Maybe as a resolution put more thoughts to individual action in order for the prayers of others to be realized.

Their last mass shooting was 4 years ago, and the one before that was 2015.

    Meanwhile in America...

    December 4, 2023, 11:04 AM ET

There have been more mass shootings than days in 2023, database shows. The United States has experienced 627 mass shootings so far this year.

*We've had 13 more since that report.

Looks like they also have a liberal gun control law:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_law_in_the_Czech_Republic
The "right to acquire, keep and bear firearms" is explicitly recognized in the first Article of the Firearms Act. At the constitutional level, the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms includes the "right to defend one's own life or life of another person also with arms under conditions stipulated by law".

In the Czech Republic, firearms are available to anyone, subject to acquiring a firearms license. Firearm licenses may be obtained in a way similar to a driving license; by passing a proficiency exam, medical examination and having no criminal record. Unlike in most other European countries, Czech firearms legislation also permits citizens to carry concealed weapons for self-defense; 252,245 out of 308,990 gun license holders have a concealed carry permit (31 December 2021).[4] The most common reason for firearm possession by Czech gun owners is for protection, with hunting and sport shooting being less common.[5] Additionally, people can join government endorsed advanced shooting training courses with their privately owned firearms and become civilian reservist.[6]
Maybe the Root Cause (other than menthol health) was that those p***y college students didn't shoot back with their own concealed handguns?

That "liberal gun law" wouldn't pass the MAGA votes. They don't approve firearm licenses that require training, proficiency exams, and medical examinations.

That’s correct; regular mass shootings occur only in America. Of course, the strawman is a favorite of yours.

....and Elementary schools, shopping centers, bowling alleys, festivals, parades, clubs, colleges, restaurants, or anywhere else some nutjob with an AR-15 can start firing at a bunch of people like ducks on an arcade machine.
