I already knew Arnold and the 2 actors from T3 weren't going to be involved, but when I looked at the section about the movie in the Terminator Franchise wiki, I can see how it could easily be read incorrectly. The wiki entry also mentions another rumor, I think confirmed by one of the producers, that John Connor is not the main star of the movie, that a whole new character is being introduced and the movie will focus more on him. I was surprised to hear Bale attached to this back when word leaked out. Bale's track record of late would not point to him ever being in a McG movie, but one guy speculated that since he doesn't make huge money for the Batman movies, taking this role would probably be a way to secure a real nice payday while the writers strike is still going on and then allow Bale to do better roles in smaller budgeted movies (kind of like Clooney with the Ocean's movies and then doing stuff like Michael Clayton, Good Night & Good Luck, etc). I remember in an article, I think in GQ, it seemed like he was not above taking a role for the money, especially after he hit a rough patch where he wasn't getting any work and his managers had to pay his mortgage. Bale will also be in Killing Pablo, about Pablo Escobar with Javier Bardem from No Country For Old Men playing Escobar. Recently he's been rumored to be cast as the FBI agent who hunts down John Dillinger and other famous criminals in Michael Mann's next movie. Johnny Depp will play Dillinger and will be the focus of the movie.
I finally got around to watching the pilot episode. Im really surprised of all the criticism its getting. Its pretty much what I expected. Spoiler Robert Patrick will be back as the T1000 and the only thing that they can find in Los Angles to stop him is Jack Bauer
Just finished watching it. I'm starting to like it a lot -- it's orders of magnitude better than Bionic Woman and some of the other stuff we've had to live with on TV lately. I love the way they give the fembot just enough personality to make you curious, and then when you're not expecting it, she reminds you rudely that she's a machine. The writers still have lots of work to do, but it looks quite promising so far.
I like the show so far. I think they did a good job with the girl cyborg. Most of the time her responses seem realistic in that they are logical, computer like. She only gives very subtle hints of some kind of humanity.
My wife and I enjoyed it. As mentioned above it was WAY better than the Bionic Woman plus I really like Summer Glau (did she get a boob job?). I think all the main characters were well chosen and do a good job representing the movie actors. Sure there were nit picks and Sarah Conner's boyfriend at the beginning doesn't act too well but overall it's well done. The concept seems to be one that can sustain itself over time, however, lets just hope the writers keep it interesting. With regard to the bullet proof chair... I don't think they developed that well. My guess is that they were trying to imply with the shotgun in the wall and the chair that Sarah Conner goes to great lengths to prepare her dwelling in case of attack. You can't keep stuff like automatic weapons out in the open so you have to be clever to keep weapons and defenses available. Being TV, they just didn't have time to go into it much. A book would have done it much more justice.
Really, I actually found last nites episode a lot more interesting than the first. Glau has the robot mannerism down pat, curious to see how it progresses as the show moves on. So I take it the writers have given themselves an out in terms of being slaves to what happens in T3 with the time jump.
I watched the second part last night from bed while sick. I had a fever and was feeling horrible. I ended up having some great Terminator "fever**" dreams after I fell asleep. ** you know those really weird dreams you have when you have a fever.
You didn't actually see her put it in her mouth. It was implied that she ate it, but I don't think she did.
Last night's show wasn't bad at all -- i'll definitely give it another look next week. Mondays are a good night for a show like this (especially after football is done) - not much else to do especially in the winter.
I finally saw the pilot episode last night...I liked it, entertaining and its great to have a new show on... Is it perfect? No, but enjoyable... Btw, that chick is hot..."You need to put those back in the holster"...
I'm watching the 2nd episode now.. I thought I'd throw this out there since I said Summer Glau is hot and all.. the more I see her, the more I realize she has a couple of traces of Chloe from "24". Some weird lip thing, and her chin. And it's starting to annoy me just because it reminds me of Chloe, and she's an annoying character.
So I think this show has actually continued to improve as it goes along. Tonight's episode was cool; and I think the plot twists are becoming much more entertaining. Anyone else watching.
I have been watching. There is a lot of hidden stuff that you catch on a second viewing. It's progressively getting better. Though from my stand point... I have never seen the movies (or if I saw the first one I was so young I don't remember it) so I am not tainted by what happens in them. I only watched the first episode to support the former Firefly alum But it was good enough to keep me watching.
I completely forgot about this show and I happened to catch the start tonight by chance -- couldn't get into it... oh well.
I like the plot line of Spoiler who - if either - is 'bad': Cameron or Derek. I think it has to center around what happened in the basement of the house where Derek and his squad were kept captive. Lots of interesting theories for this on the net. I also like the way the show is filling in events in the future that lead up to the first Terminator movie.
I find it hard to believe that the dude on the left is saving us from the future of super-robots. when is dylan coming in to save us?
