I think that is due to strength of schedule based on record and greater variance with fewer games. If you throw a coin two times you can get head two times. If you throw a coin a million times you will end up with close to 50% head and 50% tails.

Take the Texans for example. They were 9-7 their schedule got harder they went 6-10. They had a bunch of unlucky breaks like a batted ball that went to a receiver. This year their schedule is much easier and look at their record. If the NFL played a 162 games or 82 game talent would win out.

The rockets a couple years ago started like 20-13 and then missed the playoffs. NFL don't have balanced schedules and they play fewer games so you can get random teams popping up

Move the chains. Thats what matters the most. Whether its through QB's pass or QB's foot, as long as you cross the first down marker.

No one likes QBs "hogging" the ball making their receivers run all over and O-lineman having to wiggle around on their feet forever to hold blocks, just so the QB can tuck and run himself...

But thats why mobile running QBs can work to SOME effect and aren't necessarily disastrous. If the defense gives the QB free yards of open field ahead of him, might as well take it.

That's the problem, he doesn't move the chains. In his 5 starts he's averaged less than 200 yards total offense.

When Tebow accepts that he's a runningback, I think I'll like him a little better.

well, he moved the chains a lot in that last drive against the jets.
but yeah I dont see how this type of play is going work during all season, well maybe the 6 next games will work, but is not going to work next season.

I agree and disagree. I agree in that NFL's fewer games have some to do with this phenomenon. Disagree that it's due to sheer randomness. NFL performances are fairly consistent. The Texans defense last year didn't all of a sudden get good one game and crappy the next. They sucked. Vice versa with this year's defense.

But I do agree that if the NFL had, say, a 50 game season, this would not happen as much. But the NFL play 16 games. Each worth roughly 5 NBA games or 10 MLB games. So having a leader that give you a 4 game NFL winning streak is like 20 straight wins in the NBA. The impact is huge.

chargers game no longer in danger of being blacked out because of Tebow. It's like when jesus fed thousands of people with one loaf of bread.

I get it. Coz that's a story from the Bible.

Props to you. Any time anyone has the creativity to say something random about Jesus it's awesome sauce.

This is why America wins man. So much creativity and individual initiative. Seriously someone should put some of this on TV. I bet you could make a lot of money with Christ jokes. I wonder why no one's done it.

Denver had 3 timeouts, they could have gotten the ball back with almost a minute (more like 45 seconds) on the clock, wth?
