That's where a lot of the internet gambling sites are located.....probably a lot of transplanted US citizens there. DD
Surprising that the US contribution is less than half of the total traffic. That's pretty amazing given it's a sports team at a city level. Can they break it down further? I wonder how many people on the board are actually in Houston. Not too surprised about the Chinese contribution. Chinese and English are incredibly different. Both in grammar and character makeup. I can speak Chinese at a native speaker level, and still have a headache reading Chinese websites, simply because of how the characters and structures look so alien when used to reading English. So I imagine it would the same case vice versa.
I thought there were only 3-5 Canadian posters...I guess we're really active if we're outdoing the Chinese.
Well since this thread is kinda going in this direction I guess I"ll ask here. In the faq on top of this page, there is something called referrals. Is Clutchfans currently doing anything like this right now? Also about the Spurs website being bigger than ours(judging by member amount)Im sure they have alot of Bandwagon fans because they are winning championships. With the offseason we just had, expect more members after we win our championship this year
Another thing to note is that the Spurs have two forums, spursreport and spurstalk.com The combined traffic easily outdwarfs clutchfans. Both of them are huge.
true...and bandwagon fans are usually pitiful and post new topics every 2 minutes over things discussed in other threads, might be a bad thing.
So, can we all agree that Clutchfans.net has the best quality of all the fansites? They may have more members, but they are very likely bandwagoners and post new threads every 2 minutes about stuff already discussed like dntrwl said.
no doubt in my mind this is the best site as far as sport message boards. ps that marbury video is hilarious. the last 2-3 minutes is where it gets good
Of course, it's likely that they share a lot of members, since I assume the die-hard fans post at both places. Personally, I do think it's better if they combine to avoid redundant discussions(at least to a certain extent). This is one area where monopoly is actually a good thing.
One other thing to keep in mind is that those rating based on Alexa are more-or-less worthless. Alexa can only determine hits based on people who download and install their toolbar. For a long time their toolbar didn't work in Firefox, only IE. Also, since their toolbar is basically spyware many intelligent surfers self-select out of their statistics. Even doing simple things like installing patches to keep your browser secure can break Alexa until they release an update. So one way to look at it is Spurs fans are dumb enough to download and install a tracker whereas Rockets fans are secure enough to love and appreciate all of Clutch's hard work without looking at rankings.
I'm going to take this off-topic for a second here. About a week ago Rocket Addict sent me a message through the board asking about Nugs forums. I tried to reply but his e-mail address didn't work. So for anyone that's interested, the biggest one is probably: http://nuggets.proboards1.com/ I now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion.
last year during the playoffs during the first round I posted on "jazzfanz.com" forums and "dallas-mavs.com" forums
I recently started looking at other fan boards because I was curious how the fans of other teams throughout the league were reacting to the Rockets moves. Man, I have always loved and valued this site but I had no idea how fortunate we are. Much of what I saw was low population boards full of barely literate posters. In short, I wasn't impressed with any of the other boards I saw. However, I did find out that on the Mavs board they post basically every single ESPN insider article. That's somewhat useful.
Trust me, fans of teams of ALL sports would love to have a fan site like clutchfans... the community is genuine, the site is rich in quality multimedia, updated frequently... and one of the best "insider" sources in the NBA.. I don't care how many members turdreport.com has, they wish they were clutchfans.
