Turkey completely crumbled in the 2nd quarter and couldn't continue the pace. Team USA uses their depth to exhaust opponents into submission. I still have concerns about their half-court offense. Too much one-on-one.
Agreed, but I still think they'll get it clicking in time. I have faith in Coach K. Remember, this is only their second game together really.
Its hard for them to get things going in the half court because they usually have 4 perimeter guys out there. Other than that the only guys who seem to play well (team-wise) in the half court is Boozer and Redd. They understand how to play off the ball. The PG's, Kobe and Dwade do a decent job but that's only because they're primary ball handlers. The other guys have never had to deal with getting others open and knocking down open jumpers from someone else's penetration.
I've watched your 2 games and I have doubts about you can win Spain. Your defense on the p&r's is bad, also the rotation at the third-four pass. Players have serious problems reading situations (all stars roster...). A lot of your points come from the pressure and the steals. You can steal balls to canadians/turkish backourt players, but mabye not to Calderon, Raul Lopez, Navarro or Rudy. You have a better team than other years, but I still have doubts about USA team, in fact we talk about the same situation with similar problems. Coach K needs to be fired, firstly for the roster selected, and secondly for the game of his team. Bench job seems to be almost inexistent, and there is a bad image around the world about the game style of the USA team. Good luck.
For the 2nd time, I'm calling out the idiot who said Team USA doesn't need Wade and that Wade isn't a good international player. You know who you are. Can you eat some humble pie?
umm... they are forcing them to shoot less than 40%. They just blew out those teams by an avg of 40 pts. if u have watched "road to redemption", u will know this year is a different.

if you are right, and i'm not saying you are, it has less to do with coach k and more to do with the fact that we've bastardized the game of basketball from a team sport to a showcase of individual talents.
