Wilcox could never play on the Clippers because of Brand, he was not as good as Brand, but is WAY better than Swift. Look how he played in Seattle? That is some good production. I would trade J-ho for him in a heart beat. DD
No question. I would trade Juwan for an old pair of Adidas. But Seattle ain't doing that. The only way we can possibly get Wilcox is if he wants to come here for a championship for the MLE.
Ruben patterson a shooting Guard? I think Michael Redd and Larry Hughes are the outliers. The Kings are supposed to be offering 36 mill- that more or less trumps most MLE deals- Unless Bonzi insists on moving away. Bonzi is worth the money but he is not getting 60 million - now that Isiah is calmed down and Atlanta is constrained by a court order to throw money at people!
Wilcox has a lot of nice tools, and has the ability to be an extremely strong PF. However, it's tough to say whether he did well in Seattle because of the opportunity or the motivation for a new contract. L.A. media suggested on more than one occasion that he rarely put forth much effort in practice or games. Gooden can give you a 20-20, and follow it up the next game with a 6-6. Don't look at his season averages, look at his game log. He's on his 3rd team already, and Paul Silas had to openly coddle him to keep his head straight. While in Orlando, he had a rep for being more interested in nightclubs than being a player. It shouldn't be dismissed that he lost a ton of his minutes to Varejo by the postseason, and that Varejo was the guy on the floor in most of the clutch situations. Evans is a scrapper, but JVG wants nothing to do with this guy. Dissed him before the playoffs, dissed him during the playoffs as a TV commentator.
Ruben, on defense, can play the 2, 3, or 4. On offense, he's a 3. Decent post game, tolerable handle, very limited range.
