Does anyone think we should take him if all the good bigmen and guards are off the board? He's been very poised running a team to two championships and plays solid defense, not to mention an over 40% shooter from 3 and 85% from the foul line. He's been very confident at the camps and could be a starter someday. I know we just got M. James, but I feel Coach A. is gonna have him come off the bench for instant offense ala Bobby Jackson since he's more of a scorer than a natural distributor.
Even though everyone has him slated as a second rounder, I would love to take him if all other options are off the board...hell, I'd take him over Morris Almond right now...
Being a Florida grad, I've watched the kid plenty and would love to have him. But we already have an absolute glut of guards. We would be better served getting a defensive wing to replace Bonzi and a defensive-oriented big, or simply deal the choice to a someone like the Knicks or Cavs who want to dump salary and get a first-rounder.
As good as Green is, an undersized...or average sized...PG doesn't really give us much change over what we have right now. I would take Pruitt over Green.
The difference w/ Green is he is a true pg, unlike James, and I think he has a good chance at beating Alston for starting pg if it came down to it.
Two very good reasons and a reference number why the Rockets don't need a "true PG". The reference # is 2004-05 and the 2 reasons are Bob Sura and Mike James. Green is fine as long as it's 2nd round.
I have a couple of questions for you. Do you think the Rockets should or will go for a 4 like Big Baby or Nick Fazekas,or a 5 like Fesenko? I'm assuming Sean Williams will be gone by then. If SG's like Morris Almond or Marco B are off as well by the 26th pick what should they do? I would appreciate your input.
